Thanks, unfortunately my back would disagree after Friday's session, it certainly didn't feel rewarding! Can't think what caused it, as I *think* my form is usually pretty tidy.


I request vids, Nudity is optional but preferable.
 
Here's me squatting back in July, this was also a disappointing squat session. Due to stupid gym rules, I am clothed. Critique away please.

Looks good to me, brosky. The descent on the first three reps seems a little too fast for me, though.

Looked pretty good, imo. Perhaps you just Miaou'd yourself slightly.
 
You may still be fatigued from your deadlift session, I find if my erectors/posterior chain aren't recovered then everything goes down the drain on squats.

Thanks Thunder, the descent speed is something I have been trying to work on recently, I was aware I was a little "bouncey"

I'd agree on the bounce factor with those squats, are they low bar yes? Only other thing I would say is...big deep breath on every rep, get tight! It will help keep your chest up as well

Had a large doner kebab and then 30 minutes later a Muslim colleague brought some chicken biryani in for me as he was celebrating Eid today. Both were delicious, both were filling and I was hoping it would fuel me to a deadlift rep PR today.

By the time I got to the gym i had to take a dump as I was really uncomfortable and didn't wan't any accidents when deadlifting.

155kg x 3 + 5 = 8 reps. Equalled rep PR. I was really hoping for 10 reps today, but was nearly vomiting from rep 6 onwards, I think I overdid it with the eating just before the gym.

Few rounds of light bagwork afterwards and some stretching.
 
Thinking of going back to the Muay Thai gym next week, although only really as a guest appearance and to see how I hold up in sparring thesedays, not planning on making another go at it and hoping for a fight somewhere down the line, think I need to be honest with myself and admit that's probably it for me : age, work and family commitments are stacked against me for me to be competetive, but might aswell try and keep the tools sharp (my child due in April could be a girl so I potentially need to keep future boyfriends in check ;-) )

Was a little nervous going in to today's session after my back pain following last week's squats. Warmed up on the treadmill and then did some stretching and also worked a couple of extra warmup sets in to ensure I was ready to go:

Felt good so did not push it further from there, played it safe and left plenty in the tank. Really concentrated on controlling my descent on the squats and remaining tight. No repeat of last week's pain so I am happy.

Did some neck work to finish things off.

If I have a girl, and she starts to bring boys home, what I'm going to do is this. I'm going to act real nice, make them think I'm alright, not too bad. Then I'll ask him to hold pads for me for a round or three. After he's held for me, I'll sit him down and explain to him really quietly why it's very important that he treat my daughter right. Actions speak louder than words, right?

Absolutely! Infact have done this a few times at work when new employees have come in bragging about how tough they are and what martial arts / fighting they have done. I have kept quiet and just suggested that we train together at some point, they usually end up surprised (I hope that doesn't come across as too boastful, but as you will likely have experienced, generally the "talkers" aren't usually as good as they make out)

Nope. And talkers usually get thinner Thai pads too- I've given one person some awesome circular bruises on the forearms from through pads.

Ha well I already have a boy, and he already likes watching mma with me, I suspect if we have a girl, my girlfriend will try to make her the girliest girl around!
