The MilkMan delivers

I vote for b) and d). Didn't choose a) for two reasons: You just hit it what, two days ago? And two, I need to catch you and you're making it hard.

I should have listened to you scoop. My ego got in the way, I tried to pull 200kg today and it did not happen. Not only did it not happen but in the process I have hurt my back and am in considerable discomfort.

Next week is deload, I am going to take it off from lifting completley.

Shit like that happens man. Especially when your near a milestone such as 200kg, you tend to push it and try to progress faster than you can.
No problem in doing that, it proves that your motivated and hungry to get strong, take it as a learning lesson and you'll come back stronger.. and smarter.

Oh, and have that doner!

Thanks mate for the reassuring words. I'm going to go for a curry and a few beers tonight now instead of a doner. Should help with the recovery.

Thanks guys. I'm sure if I drink enough beer tonight it will mask any pain I have.

I'm a few days late but congrats on the deadlift PR. Hopefully the back issue isn't anything major. Enjoy the curry and beer!

I'm feeling pretty banged up/rough from the last six or so days of lifting. I have a rest day every fourth day and I'll tell you that the last one did not seem to really give me much recovery time/benefit. Ugh. So my sympathies to you, lifting and/or dealing with a body that is beaten up and sore is a mental battle. Taking time to scale it down can also be a mental battle. Cheers, bottoms up (I swear the brits say that).

Hope the backs feeling better today Milk, i feel a bit guilty egging you on:icon_cry2
If its muscular at the side of the spine you should be ok, when i've been injured in the past DL'ing that was the usual area. I'd baby it for a week or two then be back at it.
Hope you're OK.

Thanks everyone, it's starting to feel slightly better today, am just taking it easy though and not even risking play-fighting with my son for now. I think it is muscular as it is to the side of the spine as Bull stated so I'm hoping a bit of rest is all it needs.

This week is my deload and I am on nights at work so I am just going to take the week off completely, and enjoy a little extra time in bed during the day. I have had a nice amount of food (and drink) over the weekend which I'm sure helped wash down the painkillers!

Back now feeling fine. Rest has done it good. Ready for training again on Monday.

Sorry to hear about the injury, Man. I feel your pain; hurt my back pulling 160 for a PR a few months ago. Luckily for me, I only had two shifts to go and I was on holiday. I took a week off training and was as good as new when I started again.

Don't try to rush the recovery. Hope you get well soon.

No, am going to ease back into it this week and then add boring but big assistance again next week...then I'm off on holiday for a few weeks so will be doing no lifting.

May do some bodyweight stuff to tide me over though.
