Why, thank-you! I have only really just adjusted to using kgs to be honest, was always raised on lbs and stones.

Fuuny you should say that Babyeater. Before I joined sherdog and kept a log, I sucked at lbs-kg conversion, but now im pretty damn good, I think. Well, atleast up to 600lbs.

ps, google got automatic pounds-kilo conversion in their search engine.

haha, why in this log?? What we're you searching for to bring up these gems?

lol, I guess they belong in the gym idiots thread.

The first one i found a while ago as I was trying to find out how many pounds 210 kilos would be (I was hoping for a squat pr at that weight)

The other one, i think I saw a video of vince anello (crazy deadlifter) and he was deadlifting 810 pounds, so i googled it and that tiny douchebag came up, lol

Milkman, have you tought of doing any grip or strongman contests?
I think the UK got a pretty good amounts of gyms and competitions
Sugden barbell is a english site, and I know david horne and probably some other grippers live in the uk.

No, I'm nowhere near that level yet. The grip training is really just something to do while at work that at least has some strength benefit, but some of those grip guys seem pretty fanatical about it. If I was to compete in anything again, it would be boxing / MT or MMA, rather than a strength sport. What I like about the training aspect of strength, is that you can largely do it by yourself, which suits me just fine at the moment. I can get to the gym while at work, get my training done, and spend the rest of my spare time with my family, rather than travelling to a boxing / MT gym and not getting home until after everyone at home is in bed.

No training today (bank holiday - gym is closed), but I consider what follows as preparation for the upcoming week...think I'm going to do deadlifts tomorrow instead of Military Press, gonna hit my required lift for 5/3/1 which is 160kg x 1, not bother with AMRAP and am then going to try and pull 190kg for a new PR.

This will surely help:

Yep, it is meat (alledgedly) we call this a lamb doner kebab. Usually consumed at the end of a night "on the tiles/lash/piss" and absolutely bloody delicious.

I thought that looked like doner meat you bad bad (milk)man!

To be honest, if I wasn't so skint at the end of this month then I'd probably be doing the same - so no judgement here.

Ha, they are definately something of a guilty pleasure, and strangely this has been a long month hasn't it? Roll on payday.

Definitely, got a wedding this weekend and still gotta pay the hotel.

Speak of the devil, my girlfriends sister just got a takeaway and offered me some mushroom pakoras and onion rings...couldn't help but accept!

Traditional Scottish cuisine at it's finest! :-)

Could be worse, could deep fry a kebab.

Where abouts you hail from anyway?

I live in Hampshire, England, but my dad was from The Black Isle and most of his family still live there and Inverness mainly. Love going up to visit whenever I can. Where abouts in Scotland are you?

I'm from Perth but I was down in England quite recently to see my girlfriends family (she is originally from Colchester).

I must say, your chippies have some strange things like eels and odd sausage but I can't get a bloody white pudding supper!! What is with that!?!

Mmmm. My food of choice for years before i got married and was introduced to normal nutritious food. Every Friday teatime after work kebab meat with chips swamped in chilli sauce to line the belly before hitting the town and drinking it dry.
