Ha that's it for now in terms of 1RM attempts, gonna stick to trying AMAP on working sets as per 5/3/1 probably until the winter when I might be tempted to try for 1RMs again.

Thanks KT, as per my above post to Lifter, gonna ease off the 1 rep max attempts for a while and try and grab AMRAP on sets as per 5/3/1. Will test again in the winter, 400 would be nice, but we'll see..

Meant to be deloading this week but figured I'd save it for when I have a week off work in 2 weeks time. Today just did a couple of rounds boxing bagwork, and a couple of (long) rounds on the pads, alternating with my training partner. Planning on either lifting tomorrow, or doing some more boxing.

great job man :D

Thanks alot!

Nice job man. The PRs keep coming!

Thank you, yeah for now....

Nice squat PR MilkMan!

Cheers scoop!

I'm kind of messing about for the next few sessions as I am going to time my deload to coincide with my next week off work, which is the week after next.
I don't want to start another 5/3/1 cycle only to have a week off midway through, so I am kind of going off programme until then and then will start cycle 7 when I return fully refreshed from my week off.

Anyway, hit the gym today with a sore back, nothing lifting related, but think I may have over extended something a little while boxing yesterday and it has bothered me since.

Was going to do some O/H Press but decided on squatting instead:

Squats:
20kg x 5
20kg x 5
70kg x 5
90kg x 5
120kg x 5
140kg x 1
150kg x 1
160kg x 1
170kg x 1 - New 1RM PR!

I know I said I was going to lay off the 1RM attempts for a while, but it was too tempting, and I figured why not, seeing as I haven't started my new 5/3/1 cycle yet.

Very pleased with this, will drink beer tonight.

ahh no I'll pass thanks KT, have never front squatted in my life for my sins and I am kind of relieved the last competition has come to an end to be honest.

Thanks though and good luck!

Hey Milk, don't worry about going for the new 1 rep maxes, keep it going till you stall. Think of it this way, you may never be stronger than you are now. I keep sayin it but MILK it for all its worth. Plenty of time to reset ( recycle) when the gains dry up.
I've been guilty in the past of not pushing further after hitting a planned goal, recycling and taking forever to get back to that planned 1rm. So keep going, ( good form safety wise of course)

Thanks Bull, I have taken your comments on board, I think you're right, so will keep pushing.
