Metal/Rock/Industrial The metal thread \m/

New Impetuous Ritual album is out.
Immerse yourself.

I was just listening to this album in the morning. Much better production than in their previous lps but I still prefer the unholy congregation... even though it sounds like it was recorded in a fucking cave!

Never been a fan of metal bands with female vocalists (other than Sacrilege) but this one is sick!

Unholy is full of great tracks, but I think this new one is a grower. Whole album has a very deliberate feeling structure to it, starting with wild chaos and then bringing in more hypnotic elements as it goes along.

I am on a thai trip now.... (gf):
not that metal but.... all from thailand (something new):

So fuckn' HEAVY. Love the re-recording.

I wish more bands would do this for old poor quality sounding records.

Testament did this for their first two albums in back in 2001 with "First Strike Still Deadly", which is my favorite release from them:

I will say that I HATED that Exodus did this with "Bonded By Blood" with Rob Dukes on the vocals. That is BALOFF's album, you can't replace him. They already have "Another Lesson in Violence" which sounds incredible as a live album.

Classic stuff dude. So bummed I never got to see em live. Memoriam are OK though.

If you like classic Bolt Thrower, check out this relatively new Polish band Chainsword. Their 2021 album Blightmarch is pretty much them saying "Let's just be Bolt Thrower." I personally think they do Bolt Thrower better than Memoriam!

Now that I think about it, I may have found out about this band from this thread, haha.

Speaking of tributes, just wanted to post my all-time favorite instrumental interlude by a metal band.

Despite At the Gates and this particular album being so massively influential and spawning legions of imitators, this track has always seemed underrated to me. I've never heard a good cover of it.

I love how the outro riff shows up elsewhere in the album as a bridge in Cold, right before Andy La Rocque's legendary guitar solo.
