Movies THE MATRIX: RESURRECTIONS (New Trailer)

No, it's actually going to be amazing.

Look at the projector screen in the back of this frame... notice something you've seen before?

They are going seriously full on meta.

I'm not sure what you mean...

Makes more sense to me that its closer to a sequel than a reboot. The Architect told Neo that this plays out over and over. This feels more like the "8th iteration" or whatever number they are up to.

Yeah, but that begs the question if its the same Neo, Trinity, and I'm pretty sure that's not the same Morpheus.

So, if they aren't, that weakens the emotional tie between the audience and characters. They're played by the same actors, but we all saw Trinity die and whatever happened to Neo is still disputed.

Amnesia seems like a weak plot-point.

<Fedor23> not impressed with what 20 years has done for the technology

Short answer is CGI is much more advanced today but they do much more with it hence there are a lot of flaws causing people to hate many of the uses for CGI which is incredibly high today compared to 20 years ago. This video breaks it down pretty well.

Oh, by the way, most movies with Christmas or Near-Christmas releases have sucked.

The last one I remembered being good was the Muhammad Ali biopic with Will Smith.

If this was expected to be a huge success, why Christmas? I'm NOT predicting this to bomb, infact audiences made Jurassic World a huge success because of the curiosity of a new Jurassic Park movie after 10+ years.

Its been 18 years for The Matrix, so why Christmas? Why not delay it until next Spring or Summer?

I don't think its amnesia. Think about this, Neo and Trinity seem older, they are obviously older, yet Morpheus is younger. We even see the black cat in the first scene, which is the old indication that changes have been made in the Matrix. There are already theories floating around that because of the extremely advanced tech of the A.I. that they were able to resurrect or bring back Neo and plug him back into the Matrix. This theory seems to make sense because of the fact Neo has been a thinly veiled Christ figure for the entire series, hence, Resurrections. Then you combine all that with the Architect telling Neo that this story line plays out over and over, always ending the same, and it seems like this is a continuation, not so much a reboot.

The fact that Morpheus and the Oracle both seem younger while Neo and Trinity seem older indicates to me that meant it that way. They could have easily cast older actors if they wanted everyone to appear the same age.

So the reason he still looks like John Wick is he was still under contract with the studio for JW 4. So he couldn't shave and cut his hair without them royally fucking up like they did with Cavill in BvS.

They are watching the first Matrix movie in the new movie. Some real meta shit going on. Maybe the architecht(s) are using lessons learned to make a new improved Matrix?

I think its obviously the next version of the Matrix. The Architect already told Neo this happens over and over, with Zion always being destroyed at the end.

It looks pretty cool. That sucks that Lawrence Fishburne isn't in it though. Lets just hope they don't ruin in with SJW bullshit.

No the reason he "looks like John Wick" is because thats what Keanu looks like with long hair and a beard. Is he only allowed to have long hair and a beard in John Wick or something?

There is obviously the plot point of the Matrix being rebooted several times so its not exactly just mexican sitcom plotting.

This does seem like the kind of story thats within the means of the Wachowskis to tell, a nice little sci fi mystery with fun characters. The problem with the sequels was they suddenly had delusions of grandeur or felt they needed to play to all the high minded talk around the original but in reality there obviously not 2OO1 era Kubrick or Blade Runner era Ridley Scott, there makers of fun blockbusters.

Nah you remember when for contractual reasons Henry Cavill couldn't shave his mustache when it came time for reshoots on bvs?

Obviously I'm guessing about this stuff, however, now I'm finding people around the interwebs are losing their minds a little bit because of something seen in the trailer.

So here it is. You need to pause the trailer at 0:46. You will see Neo looking up at the sky into the sun, but if you look to the left side of the frame you will see an unusually shaped building.

So people are saying this is the Continental Hotel from John Wick.

And that Neo is in fact in a John Wick simulation. I generally think this theory is fun but ridiculous but now I'm thinking how insane that would be.

I don't know. there are so many theories floating around YouTube and Reddit right now. People are actually kinda losing their shit over this trailer and new film and there are so many ideas floating around I don't know what to think. Now this has to either be a bad ass twisty complex film or everyone is going to hate it.

Thats a terrible idea lol... John Wick crossover

I'm stuck on them watching the first movie within the new movie. I think Neo gets ressurected but he has no memory, and he has to follow the same steps he took before, and part of the way they remind him is by showing him what happened in previous incarnations.

Well obviously, they would be trying to reveal to Neo that this has happened over and over, which is what the Architect told him but that doesn't mean they didn't put him in a John Wick simulation to trick him and keep him busy. I'm not saying that's the case but he does appear to be standing in front of the Continental Hotel lol.

Good God that sounds terrible.

Lets hope Keanu Reeves doesn't repeat any lines from the John Wick movies like he quotes "Guns. Lots of Guns" in the third John Wick movie.

It was awesome as a one-off for JW3, but if he does it in Matrix 4 its going to be cringy AF.
