My theory is that these execs are young enough to represent the "new" sequel trilogy Star Wars (Rey, Kylo Ren), but old enough to be out of touch with how interconnected the world is via the internet and cell phones. You used to be able to get away with saying shit like this because there was no record or 'proof' of it.
