I love how they showed very little of the film and yet conveyed the atmosphere perfectly in the second trailer. That first, wild-eyed "what?" from Dafoe was terrific. Great delivery.

Also, I was a wwe fan years ago and couldn't help but think of Stone Cold Steve Austin's gimmick of saying, "what?" repeatedly to someone who hadn't said anything to him. It became out of control with the crowd doing it to interrupt heel promos long after Austin had retired, but the early going of it was amusing stuff.

What movie is that from?

Rewatched The Witch last night and goddamn it got me hyped for this. This was the second time I’ve watched it and I liked it even more this time. I’d forgotten just enough for there to still be some moments that caught me off guard. It’s still unsettling from start to finish and it’s moving its way up on my favorite horror movie list.

I’m trying to keep my expectations in check for this but it’s hard to after last night. Release is just around the corner. Don’t care if I have to go alone to see it, I can’t wait.

Just got back from the theater. Fucking hated The Witch, but this was quite good. The Twilight twink brought the goods, the director did an amazing Ingmar Bergman impression, & Willem Dafoe probably deserves an Oscar for this.

Just saw this. I highly recommend everyone watch it. Really surprised it isn't getting talked about here.

Hmmm, intrigued. I seem to be drawn into any cinema release that isn't a bullshit marvel / superhero production so I'm in and ready for this one.

Seeing that twightlight dude acting the hell out in this movie, I've gained some confidence in him playing batman.

saw this today, and loved it. The Lighthouse is missing the point blank ending that we got in The Witch, which i think worked really well in The Witch but would have been out of place here. instead, there's a lot more to think about throughout the movie, and it's much more focused on making the audience wonder what's real.

Willem Dafoe is a god damn genius in this movie, and him yelling at Pattinson (also putting in a great performance) for not liking his cooking was one of the greatest speeches in film history. along those lines, there was also a lot more comedy in this movie than i was expecting.

Saw it last night, Willem Dafoe is an ATG actor. Some of the big monologues bordered on Shakespearian. Pattinson was great too.

It was really uncomfortable almost from the start. I found the smaller 4x3 frame added to the claustrophobic feeling.

I'm also really glad
there was no actual gay shit happening between Dafoe and Pattinson. A little homoerotic at times but no gay fucking.

Man I REALLY want to see this but it's not running in any cinemas here and there's only cam versions online...

really disappointed this had such a limited theater run around me; was hoping to go see it a second time but it’s already been bumped. the bluray can’t come soon enough.

Robert Eggers just might be the best new director working right now. this is now two grand slams in a row as far as i’m concerned.

I didn't even realize that was him until after I saw it. Didn't know he could act until now.

I wanna watch it.. I just can't bring myself to watch a twilight dude movie.
