Man I REALLY want to see this but it's not running in any cinemas here and there's only cam versions online...
really disappointed this had such a limited theater run around me; was hoping to go see it a second time but it’s already been bumped.

So Robert Pattinson is a respectable actor now?
It was just a WTF movie and Im wondering why it was so critically acclaimed recently. Artsy movies still need to have a sense of purpose.
what does this even mean? is having an interesting story to tell that blends various examples of sailor folklore & tropes not a good enough purpose? how about making a film as an ode to older cinema? those two things alone sound like “purpose” enough to me.Artsy movies still need to have a sense of purpose.
Man I had to bump this to see if we can get more discussion on this movie. I didnt hate it and it had some great performances. At the end though, All I could think of was what was the point of the movie? At least the witch went somewhere towards the end. This was just Vague...I remember watching "a killing of a sacred deer" and hating it at first. I kept on thinking about it though after watching the movie like "what did this mean or symbolize?" This movie just makes me think, what the hell was the point?" Why was Defoe clean again after getting buried? It was just a WTF movie and Im wondering why it was so critically acclaimed recently. Rewatched The Witch last night and goddamn it got me hyped for this. This was the second time I’ve watched it and I liked it even more this time. I’d forgotten just enough for there to still be some moments that caught me off guard. It’s still unsettling from start to finish and it’s moving its way up on my favorite horror movie list.
Didnt mean to insult your taste in cinema. All the symoblism didnt really mean anything in this movie. Its one thing if the mermaid symobolized his dead wife or something. What was with the octopus tentacles in the lighthouse? They were just there to show he was going crazy? If thats the case, cool. It was a well directed and acted movie, I just didnt enjoy where the story went or really feel any sense of uneasiness like your supposed to in these films. The witch and Killing of a sacred deer had a much better and tenser atmosphere. Defoe is pretty awesome though.what does this even mean? is having an interesting story to tell that blends various examples of sailor folklore & tropes not a good enough purpose? how about making a film as an ode to older cinema? those two things alone sound like “purpose” enough to me.
that is up for debate but his place amongst the most elite ferocious masturbators is unquestioned. So Robert Pattinson is a respectable actor now?
