The Immortal has always been a real one from what I've seen of him in and out of the cage.

On Gable:
“He could be champion literally today. If he went in and fought Tom Aspinall or Ciryl Gane or whoever is the champion, I don’t think there’s a chance anyone has against him. Obviously, you always have a chance in MMA, but I think he could be a champion tomorrow.

I’d pick him to beat the champion today. Keeping it real, I wouldn’t put my money against it if they fought tomorrow.”

His take is pretty much what went through my weirdo head when I first heard Gable was getting into this shit.

Any y'all sherpimps warming up to the idea of a real HW alpha among alphas running this shit for awhile?

Why don't you and Matt actually put your money where your mouth is ?

Talk is cheap

His ceiling is GOAT. But, let's wait and see him fight. I'd love to see how he looks in a competitive fight. I'd love to see how he looks in round 2. He's got to pass the Hamdy Abdelwehab Test and the Rodrigo Nascimento Test before it's time for Ciryl Gane.

He's an A-level athlete in his prime competing in an F-level sport with a genuinely good background for the sport.

Of course he would annihilate everyone.

Of course not lol. Matt Brown is awesome and a legend, but Gable is COMPLETELY untested, and it's easy to look like a God amongst mortals when he's fighting shitty people.

He's got huge upside, no doubt. I will reserve judgment until he actually fights someone who attempts to give resistance, there's still a ton we don't know

Of course he'd have a chance. Literally all HWs need is to land 1 good punch.

I don't think he's ready for the best in the world yet though. But he would probably be top 10 immediately.

So a guy that couldn’t cut it in the NFL or WWE can win a UFC HW title with minimal experience? That makes the sport look bad tbh.

Being a great amateur wrestler isn't a guarantee for success. We've seen tons of great wrestlers flame out in mma.

HW is obviously weak, so I do think he'd probably beat some ranked guys today. But in terms of championship level, I'll wait until I see his cardio, his submission defense, and how he reacts to getting punched.

Brock looked unbeatable until he got punched in the face. He actually looked beatable against Randy but he grabbed that fence. Single most significant fence grab in UFC history. Had he not grabbed and stopped that TD he could/likely would have been TKO'd from GnP and history is different.

Gable has seen ZERO resistance so far. Maybe he melts guys in the top 10 with ease but maybe not. That's why they actually fight.

i agree somewhat, but the first test will be to see how he eats a HW bomb when he least expects it.

anyone can look good with his experience, but until he eats UFC 6 oz leather in the mouth, behind the ear, in the orbital, none of this shit matters.

he needs to be built up slowly, as does all future potential champion prospects, but the UFC will fuck that up somehow and we'll get our answers soon enough.

until then, keep smashing those best buy employees and people who have no business being in the cage with him.

Who is supposed to test him outside the UFC? Gable would be favored to beat most HWs in the UFC right now.

With the striking he’s shown, he’s beyond Brock level talented. We’ve also seen him train with Gordon Ryan so we know his ground is legit too.

Pretty sure he’s a rapist though.
Also Tom, Jones, and Gane beat him. Give him another 3 fights and he might already be the favorite

It reminds me of the Ben Askren hype.
Oh no, not even close. I stay quiet sometimes because I’ve coached at youth camps in which he participated. I don’t know him personally and we’re not friends, but he’s legit and constantly looking to learn. I watched him toss around grown men when he was twelve. As good as Askren was in freestyle, he’s nowhere near Gable, and more importantly, Gable is coachable. This could turn into a Lesnar‑type situation: a weakened division, a big enough name, and a fast‑tracked title shot.
