The Fury, Wilder, AJ era was the biggest failure in HW boxing history

It's actually the Usyk era, just a shame that he only got to beat 2/3 of that "golden generation", but Wilder was broken down by those Fury fights. On the plus side, he's also stopped Dubois. Usyk is a great champion, worthy of HW history.

Boxing fans are so toxic, the moment that someone loses, they become a failure. No wonder, so many boxers cherrypick and duck like hell.
nah, real fans know that everyone loses which makes Mayweathers 0 not the accomlishment he wants everyone to think it is.

And in mma plebs call a new champ the GOAT and when he loses he's a bum who was never any good. At least i don't see the boxing equivalent of the common mma thread "[insert name of new champ] would beat GSP easily, the sport has eVoLvEd!!!"

Let's not pretend it's just boxing.

The best part was when he used it as an excuse for losing a fight LMAOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

He was SO hyped over himself , it was painful to watch
Always yelling with his mouth wide open like a crazy person, even in interviews

What is that outfit even supposed to be anyways?

"I wanted my tribute to be great for Black History Month. I wanted it to be good and I guess I put that before anything."

Wilder is a special kind of delusional moron

“ emotional.

"I said as a warrior, as a champion, as a leader, as a ruler, I want to go out on my shield.

"If I'm talking about going in and killing a man, I respect the same way. I abide by the same principle of receiving.

"So I told my team to never, ever, no matter what it may look like, to never throw the towel in with me because I'm a special kind.”

Yeah you’re special

Most of the ones that hate like this are just seeking attention. They obviously are newer to the sport & have little to no idea of the "history" of HW boxing.

The talent level wasnt anything special and we didnt get the two biggest possible fights, BUT in terms of entertainment value and big characters I think its an era that will be remembered quite fondly, especially in the UK. The Fury/Wilder trilogy, massive stadium shows, the AJ/Ruiz upset, Usyk coming up after establishing himself as an ATG cruiser, Wilder/Ortiz 1, even some of the smaller fights like Whyte/Chisora 1+2 and Martin/Kownacki.

I was rewatching the fight and after the first knockdown, I thought that any of the other top guys like Canelo or Bud would not have just taken a big right hand like that. They probably wouldn't have gotten into that kind of position in the first place, backing straight up, hands down, but if even if they did, they would have at least rolled with the shot. Canelo sees punches coming and turns his head to take the sting off at least. AJ just ate it. It speaks to the level of skill of the top heavyweights

Riding shots is really a last resort and you have to see it coming. AJ didn't. I've never seen him use the head roll but Fury & Usyk do. There are many examples of them both using it (see below).

That first shot was an arcing shot that I think he thought he was out of range of. Just by his reaction and how his mouth was open, it seemed like he thought it was going to miss him.

A lot of people were hyped about this era years ago. Some even said we were entering a golden age for HW. That these 3 were all time talents, rock papers scissors matchups between the 3 blah blah

A lot of cope for Wilder since American HWs have been dogshite for decades. People were saying Wilder would beat all these all time HWs shit was comedy. "He has a punchers chance against anyone and ____ isnt avoiding that right hand" LMAOOOOOOO low IQ takes. His best wins are 40yo Ortiz and then journeymen yet people thought his power would take out all time HWs LMAOOOO

Fury people were calling top 10 all time HW some even said top 5. He might not even be top 20 at this point. Got dropped and almost lost to an MMA debutant.

AJ had the Ruiz upset then potshot him in rematch. Picked up C level wins here and there got outclassed by Usyk and now KOd by Dubois.

In reality now that the era has played out and effectively ended we can say that

Joseph Parker was better than Wilder the whole time. It wasnt a big 3 of HW. They were carefully matchmade and ducked a lot of the real threats. Dubois and Zhang have already surpassed Wilders legacy too. AJ and Wilder avoided each other for years. Fury never fought AJ either.

And through all of this the CW who moved up was the best HW of this era the whole time. It wasnt Fury. It wasnt AJ. It wasnt Wilder. It was Usyk. What a DISASTER of an era. The biggest failure EVER that we've seen.

Everyone knows skills of HW are much lower on average than lighter weights though but that was a cartoon ass punch Dubois caught him with to end the 1st.

That was a wild overhand from halfway across the ring. Type of punch you see wrestle boxers in MMA winging LMAO getting hit by that is embarrassing at this level

That's what happens when the highest ranked fighters fight each other opposed to ducking each other. It wasn't that different in the 1970s - Frazier hands Ali his first defeat, Foreman beats the piss out of Frazier & Norton, Ali beats all odds against Foreman, Lyle and Foreman beat each other up, Young outboxes Foreman, Norton goes life and death with Holmes but gets smashed to pieces by Shavers & Cooney.

The quality of the fights isn't quite the same today, because the fighters prefer to be bulked up and eat horse meat instead of be lean and drink cold tee.
