International The Department of War.

Don't see the reasoning behind this. Not a big deal either way, but because it's Trump this will be another example of how America is fucked/screwed/destroyed and we are now in the death throes of democracy.

Meaningful change this is not.

A billion dollars gonna be spent for everything from business cards, placards, building signage, website retooling, new CACs, letterhead, etc. All at taxpayer expense.

FFS. Do better.

Don’t disagree per set, however this is a strategy that is designed to eventually save billions and much more.

Show of force with this rebranding along with strikes on Iran and Venezuela and cartel.

Just let it simmer for a couple years. Trump, Xi, Putin, Modi, other lesser countries and conflicts, especially in the GLOBAL south like narco South America and constant genocide civil war Africa, will soon bow down with one belt one Trump.

Peace through strength, without neocons creating war everywhere on earth to benefit their families brough gerrrandrring of business and NGOs

Wait, you think the name change is like the bat signal and will send US adversaries fleeing?

Did you have a memory lapse? They've been bombing Yemen and Iran like his entire Presidency, lmao.
Its not a conflict tho. Houthis arent a government. These are just strikes. There is no war or real conflict imo.

Wat. Lol. That means the entire time we were fighting insurgents in Afghanistan and Iraq we weren't fighting a real war or conflict.

This is some of the stupidest logic I've ever seen on here.

You really don't understand the difference there?

Between an undeclared ware and declared war?

Put it this way, if whether the opponent is a recognized goverment is the metric for war, that means the Civil War wasn't a real war.

Although surgical strikes happen in war, you don't need to have a declared war to use surgical strikes. It's been this way for as long as surgical strikes have been a thing.

Who said you do? I'm pointing out the argument that Trump somehow didn't continue, escalate or start wars is not supported by his actual record.

Hence it's silly to claim that American involvement in Yemen or Iran or any number of other countries wasn't a war or conflict.

War monger is a relative term, I didn't use it. But the notion that he is somehow anti war or committed to reducing US involvement in conflicts is plainly not supported by the historical record. Note that part of the reason that the Israel/Hamas truce and peace negotiations fell apart was because he backed Israel pulling out of them. Same with the US war against Iran and its proxies, he's escalated those.

Or if you want to using military force to target civilian criminals in international waters, which is nearly unheard of in modern US history.

The "new" name is the right one if the philosophy has moved back to the correct one.

The purpose of the US military (except for the guard) is to kill and destroy. Not win hearts and minds or act like world police.

I'll take the philosophy change without the name change especially if its going to cost a bunch of money that could be used in beter ways.

No it was a stupid "police action" and as such fucked up.

That’s it’s democracy is over , Jimmy Kimmel will cry about this on his show and explain how he has to have a tough conversation with his kid.

What's the difference between a police action and war?

A police action is to "bring democracy " by "winning hearts and minds".

A war is when the goal is to destroy the enemy and their ability and will to fight totally.

Police actions, see most of the bullshit the US has been involved in since WW2. Then look at the waste its been.

I'm sure it will be mostly ignored, it's not official at all. It's just a "secondary name" at this point.

And total waste of time and taxpayer money.

Not really doing any favors for the Nobel prize he's desperate for either, lmao.
It’s childish and stupid.

So the Vietnam War and Korean War were police actions?

Even though we weren't backing democracies.
