I paid for the PPV. I’m entitled to my opinion on what I paid for.

I certainly felt I got my money’s worth at the end.

But a gimmick BMF fight co-main, and Poatan VS Jamahal Hill main-eventing a milestone event in UFC 300, was mid AF. Once again, Dana himself confirmed that the main was a last ditch effort after everything else fell apart.

I’m assuming you paid for this event since you’re a real fan, like me, right?

Real fans obviously pay to watch legally.

The a’holes who pirate events won’t understand people like us, cause they watch for free.
They don’t need to consider the fact that hard-earned money is being spent on this. For them it’s whether the card is worth watching… rather than whether the card is worth paying for.

"Real fans", more like dumb fans

It’s not really a star power issue for me it’s the rules. For $80 a card, I want the old rules back.

Go earn and start injecting money into the economy, specifically in sectors which you appreciate...

Do some good for someone other than yourself for once, selfish count

Sherdog plat aint a bad place to start

Most of the people bitching about the UFC are literally just hardcore UFC haters. By their standards 95% of their beloved Pride FC were also complete garbage because they all have 1-2 good fights max and the rest are bullshit squash matches against pudgy Japanese pro wrestlers taking ko shots for shock value. 90% of those fights were no better than Power Slap.

Poatan vs Jamahal Hill was a legitimate LHW title fight. I can't understand how that bothered you in the slightest.

How you could take issue with Holloway vs Gaethje is beyond me. The fake belt simply adds a dose of laughter at the end for me.

The card featured a half dozen other high profile and high level fighters and some action-packed matchups. Ah, but it didn't feature a freakshow super fight. To me, those are idiotic.

As for whether I paid, yes, I did. I buy newrly all of them. Is that even relevant?

Fight ights are mostly trash on ppv but most of the ppvs have good lineups

As much as some fans hate to admit, you do need star power. It's the difference between an average card vs a good/great card.

Over the years I've had casual conversations with family and friends about upcoming events and disinterest is at an all time high. Trying to get them to watch it with me is a chore cause they don't know who the hell is on the card 80% of the time

Are you insane?

Everyone was pissed before the event. The Main-Event took ages to get announced. We were expecting a GSP vs Khabib level of main-event... not a main-event featuring Jamahal Hill, lol.

The BMF fight was highly frowned upon because fans thought Max was going to get slaughtered, based on what happened to him when he fought Poirier.

Man he whole forum and other boards were upset at the announce of the co-main and main-event. This was UFC 300, a milestone event.

As a paying fan, I thought I was going to get rewarded with 2 superfights or something.

Anyways, like I said - regardless of how MID UFC 300 PPV was on paper (for a MILESTONE #300 event) it ended up delivering big time and I was satisfied.

For any other regular PPV, it's definitely good enough. But for a milestone event, it was lackluster on paper. Regardless, Max Holloway and Poatan gave me my money's worth. No complaints from me after the event.

Ufc 288 really bummed me out

Sterling vs Cejudo
Burns vs Mohammed

There's a lot of fighters on that roster. It's hard to constantly make great ppvs. It seems if some are amazing that's enough:(

The UFC promotes Dana more than its own fighters. The fighters have to promote themselves nonstop. UFC has barely any media presence. Their biggest events are the least watched because of PPVs stopping casuals from enjoying them. The promotion only exists on ESPN+ a service that is niche.

There is no more star power because the UFC practically makes it impossible for anyone to become mainstream. Dana is spending more time promoting Power Slap than UFC champions.

I wonder how many of you shills actually have to pay $80 a PPV. You would be singing another tune if you had to. I can tell you one thing, If UFC ever figured out a way to completely block illegal streaming, It would be the final nail in the coffin for me. I might not have bought a PPV since they got rid of Cable TV PPV's, but i did pay for ESPN+ up until recently, so they were getting some money out of me. And honestly, if there was no way for me to watch PPV for free, i wouldn't have even bothered watching fight nights on ESPN+.
/Rant

Yeah I'd be catching the highlights and results the day afterwards if that happened. And only with insanely intriguing fights would I pay for the PPV.

I spent a year living in a place with zero or terrible internet connection and I got used to just checking the UFC results once or twice a week rather quickly honestly. Never felt like I missed much.

Why does a PPV need to a "super fight" in order to be good?
Champ vs Champ fights in itself should be rare and this whole fad of double champion is ruining divisions imo

I found this cat gif earlier and have been trying to drop it into a post all day, but never found an opening because no one pissed me off. I thought the Shercat crew could use it:

hahaha that reminds me of myself when I went to the store last night and Skittles were no longer buy 1 get 1 free, the promotion had finished. I was upset to say the least lol

No! You had to buy one get nothing free! That's the worst. Those sick motherfuckers....

This is absolutely true.

Dana White is the biggest star in the UFC.

But, such is the case with any narcissist... they simply HAVE to be the biggest star in any room.

I mean, his own mother doesn't love him... cause he promised Grandma that Vegas hospital treatment with his money, when Grandma was sick... but then disappeared and left Granny to die.

Dana's mother's own words. That's the reason she cut off with her own son.

Either need less ppvs or fighters need to fuckin fight more than twice a year. You have these up and comers like Nickal who has all this potential but seemingly won't fully commit to fighting like he did wrestling.
