Sure, Khabib has better wrestling but Islam is clearly the better overall fighter. He'd hurt Khabib with his striking - peak vs peak it's a horrible match up for Khabib.

Islam may be the more well rounded striker but he doesn't have better instincts on the feet, or in general, lower fight iq, the two should not be confused, and instincts, a mean streak, chin and fight iq are much more important than flashy striking. Islam can't stop Khabib and he admits it himself. This isn't shooting for doubles once or twice a round, it's continuous chain wrestling with high level judo trips and throws, constant forward pressure. Islam has been on the receiving end of this more than anyone.

But you never know. If Islam could negate Khabib's wrestling, that superior striking can make the difference. I think Islam vs Khabib would look a lot like Merab vs Umar, but even higher level.

Definitely, you can't compare his size and MMA wrestling to Khabib's opponents. We're talking a completely different level.

I never saw this but I thought it was relevant. Dustin has gone to war with both of these men and felt like what it was like to be in there with both of them.

I think it was obvious when watching the 2 fights. We don't need Dustin's saying it.
