Jorge wants the Rock to put the belt around his waist if he wins, so at a minimum he's not opposed.

Dana alread said that the BMF belt would be retired after this fight.

That’s a big mistake. Here’s what they should do.

Dana attempts to retire it... but can’t! Jorge or Nate holds onto it, and at their next fight brandishes it. Whenever he loses his next fight, he gives the belt to the winner, all to Dana’s red-faced chagrin. The crowd goes nuts.

This goes on for a couple years, with both the real belt and the BMF belt bouncing around. Finally, Dana is forced to relent and agree to a super unification fight between the champ and the BMF holder. The result being the biggest-hyoe fight of all time.

This whole commentary is as stupid as it's always been any time the UFC does one little cash grab or 2 in among it's mostly legit sports programming. Just let them have their little bits of entertainment value FFS. You all take it for granted that MMA will stay mainstream... & meanwhile the UFC is the only one to persist at the highest levels.

Greasing the casualz a bit is all a part of what allows them to keep the legit sh*t in the spotlight. Nate vs.Masvidol is LEGIT AS FOOK!!! so don't let some bullsh*t negative sentiments get in the way of that... just enjoy the ride.

That said, I'm an OG from way back & I think Nate's BMF belt is fun. So f*ck you stuck up mother f*ckers who can't have a good laugh!!!

I’m going by actual reports and an interview with Dana, where he says he really is making an official belt for this fight. Just can’t be defended.

They can make a real fake belt that nobody considers anything but marketing for this one fight. But if you actually believe the belt has meaning that’s more on you than the promotion that is simply promoting a fight.

No one is mistaking it for the real belt unlesss you really are special.

We've BEEN in the WWE era of mma for the past several years... with fake beefs and stupid trash talk...designed to hide the fact that certain fighters are just boring to watch in the cage, so they try to make up for it outside of the cage, and talk their way into big fights.

What we have NOW with this....is the real deal! 2 guys that will ABSOLUTELY deliver fireworks in the cage! 2 guys who will also not hesitate to punch a competitor in his mouth OUTSIDE of the cage either. And how are these 2 behaving during the buildup? Nothing but complete respect towards each other. No trash talk, no beef. Just respect and realness. They'll do their talking in the cage, and the fans will benefit.

THIS is finally a movement AWAY from that WWE type garbage.
