Like the actors but worry this will have too much going on. New Batman, Riddler, Penguin, and Cat Woman. Idk about this.

I know Gina Carano is no longer a go to actor for Hollywood. But, she would be more believable as a character that can kick ass.

Also, the quip about the journalist that questions Bruce's philanthropy seemed like a critique on modern journalism and modern philanthropist. It's not what you do, it how public you are at doing it.


Edit: twenty years ago, Jim Brown was asked about which sports celebrity does the best work helping people in society. His answer was Bill Belicheck. When pushed why he chose Bill, Jim Brown stated that he does tons of stuff behind the scenes and doesn't need people to know.

Carano could not pull off the light footed cat burglar role, not even a little bit. She is best sticking to more brute force, minimal dialogue roles.

Plus a cat cannot beat a big dog in a fight but they can cause them a heap of troubles if the dog is not set on kill mode. I think that is what you see here. Batman holding back and her not having to.

I think this will work because Penguin isn't in the film all that much. Apparently he has a handful of meaningful scenes. Catwoman isn't really that much of an antagonist in the movie, so that helps in terms of there being too many villains. Really, your main overachieving antagonist is the Riddler.

As for introducing a new Bruce/Bats, this isn't a straight up origin like Batman Begins. Having a semi-established Batman cuts a lot of the origin fat, so to speak. This movie starts from the ground running in terms of Bruce already fighting crime for about two years.
 
I really like what i've seen so far (aside batmobile lol) and i'm going to see it, but

Actually i don't even have problem with "darkest", but yes, give me artistic/fantastical over gritty realism everytime, that's why i would love a Batman done by Guillermo Del Toro

Give me a Batman universe that's the almost fantasy, dark circus it's supposed to be lol
 
only people who shouldn’t be excited for this are the people who already don’t enjoy the superhero flicks. even though i’ve been exhausted for a couple years now, there are still the select few that get me interested. new Spidey is one (seeing next week) & this new Batman is another.

i'm nauseated by MCU endless tsunami, but i followed this one with interest

Seems to me most of people throwing shit at this are those that apparently can't let go the fact leading actor 13 years ago played an emo vampire in a teen target movie

I should clarify it's not that it doesn't look good it's just that it seems to be just doing what Nolan did and I haven't seen anything that suggest it will surpass those movies. I'm also not liking the actor as Batman. He's fine in the suit but as Bruce Wayne he looks weird. The guy has always had a weird look about him and it just doesn't fit for Bruce Wayne.

I'll watch either way in hopes they can pull it off but I have my doubts. Also not a huge fan of Riddler.
 
It honestly looks like it took a lot of influence from the Arkham games in it's visual style. Some of those shots of Gotham look ripped right from the games(that clock tower shot for instance). The fight scenes also look like he's chaining together combos, LOL.


It looks alright, though, if not a little too familiar in tone to the Nolan flicks.
 
We fitting to see the GOAT Batman and I’m super excited. Robert Pattinson is one hell of a actor.

I always thought Bale's worst aspect was when he was playing the smooth billionaire. He always seemed so uncomfortable and unnatural in that skin to me. Like he was clearly faking the playboy billionaire aspect. His Batman was far more convincing.
