The amount of people thinking Colby has anything for Khamzat baffles me.

I got Khamzat winning, but I really don't see this one happening unfortunately.

yes, after the fight was called off and he was partially rehydrated.

Nope .. it wasnt called off till after weigh ins...

Him and his coach are a bunch of liars...

His coach said he only had 6 weeks to prepare for the fight thats why he missed ...meanwhile in the Embeddeds he said the camp was 10 weeks long....

10 weeks - 8.5 pounds ...lest we forget

I'm not a Colby fan but I struggle to see how Khamzat is less cringe than him.
What does that have to do with anything? Khamzat is an entertaining fighter with legitimate finishing ability. Colby is a boring decision machine

Khamzat will gas in the third and Colby will throw 300 punches a round, with 15 takedowns in the last two. Colby wins a UD and gets a titleshot
That worked out really well against snoozeman. Oh wait usman finished him in the fifth

Cardio machine vs guy that gasses in 2.5 rounds.

Gee, I can't see why people think Colby can win either. Baffling!

It’s like you guys get butthurt fights are being made

Usman isn't known for gassing vs LWs, I think you missed the point.
Snoozeman isn’t known for being undefeated like Khamzat.

Khamzat haters best weak ass come back is he gassed against the number two ranked WW who was a former LW, in a fight Khamzat won!

try harder next time. He beat burns (who was number two guy in the division) so bad and so violently that Burns hasn’t been seen in a cage since.

The amount of people thinking a top ranked professional fighter has absolutely no chance of beating any other fighter baffles me.

I know you’re just a degenerate troll bit I’ll bite. Burns would destroy Colby aswell
I think some of you guys just really hate colby. Colby can strike for ever he can throw SO much volume it drowns and mutes everyone fighting style It's a hard fight for everyone he has a good chin, he moves forward and he throws and throws and throws and can mix in takedowns at anytime. burns in khamzat can win 3 round fights, because they can keep pace with Colby for a round or 2, but any longer than that colby will begin to pull away.

I Will AV bet you On colby vs burns 100% if that happens soon.

Not interested in the khamzat one. It's a coin flip match up and i think anyone who thinks it's a easy fight for either of them are oblivious. It is a hard fight for both of them. A HUGE wrestling test for khamzat. Time to see if Colby can sink or swim. Answers questions and challenges for both.

Lol at underestimating Covington. Bunch of casuals in this thread.

I'm not going to read 5 pages of posts simply because I have my own take:

Khamzat has every tool other than superior cardio to beat Colby, but if Colby gets in his head he won't use those tools effectively and Colby is a very cerebral fighter that will take advantage of any mistake Khamzat makes, if possible. Colby just doesn't have KO power...

With all that being said, I see Khamzat ending it before the end of the 3rd. He's just too big, strong, and skilled for Colby.

If for some reason Khamzat can't end the fight by the end of the third, I see him winning a SD or UD in possible controversial fashion.

Allright, you know what, let me explain my point of view a little bit clearer. I respect Colby as a fighter very much. He's a stud. But styles make fights and I feel like Khamzat is just the worst possible style matchup for him.

Colby is a fighter that wants to control the direction of the fight more than anything. He needs to be the hammer and the only fight he wasn't able to be the hammer for the majority of the fight was against Usman (we know what happened there). Khamzat does what Colby does way better, and that is overwhelming people. Especially against smaller fighters (which Covington would be in that fight). He's the best fighter at WW or perhaps even in the UFC regarding the ability to make his opponents fight HIS fight. So in a way, the styles even each other out. Then you look at the physical attributes - also well in favour of Khamzat. I think his Russian style wrestling is more effective in MMA than Covington's style. I also feel like he's a more dangerous striker.

On the feet Colby isn't that much of a threat, he doesn't throw that hard which makes him able to conserve energy. But his energy and cardio aren't unlimited. That's some Sherdog myth people cling to that's being kept alive cause Colby always moves forward. Watch all that cardio suddenly be half of what it is if he has to move on the back foot most of the time. He's not gonna suddenly look like some unstoppable cardio machine after a couple rounds if he's going to be moving backwards, which Khamzat will make him. Khamzat will press him, walk through his volume, hit him hard, possibly drop him or surely take him down, and even if Colby scrambles chain wrestle him and make life miserable for him.

I'll be honest though I'm not sure Burns beats Colby especially now that I think that he's also 37, lol. I'll think about the AV bet.

Strickland had no chance beating Pereira striking wise

styles make fights

I think in the Usman rematch, maybe midway thru the 3rd rd, Colby started getting the better of Usman. So yea, Colbys cardio isnt a myth, & I dont think Khamzats cardio is completely proven. Would still favour Khamzat overall

If this fight gets made it will be an absolute mismatch. Khamzat is faster, stronger, taller, has more reach, has better striking, better wrestling, is more aggressive and has better submissions.

Colby is an inactive 35 year old fighter that has fought a legion of 37 year olds and the champ (twice).

The narrative is that Colby’s only way to victory is outcardio him. Everyone including his hardcore fans doesn’t even deny that he’s not going to take the first two rounds. But here’s the thing: appearantly in the 3rd or 4th round Khamzat will most definitely gas and Colby, being some mythical phoenix fighter, will rise up in the 3rd or 4th round completely fresh, as if he had been fully healed by our lord and saviour Jesus Christ himself. The damage, wear and tear and exhaustion Khamzat would’ve laid on him will be completely gone and he will rally to take the decision win.

Something like that innit? Did I describe it right?
How do you explain Khamzat repeated inability to takedown Gilbert?
