Law The “Big Beautiful Bill” Quietly Guts Judicial Power— Trump could end the system of Checks and Balances!!!

Texas politicians make headway in effort to wrench space shuttle from Smithsonian

A political effort to relocate the space shuttle Discovery from the Smithsonian to Space Center Houston has been merged with the so-called "One Big Beautiful Bill," a major economic and policy package now nearing a vote in the US Senate.

The "Bring the Space Shuttle Home Act," first introduced by Texas Senators Ted Cruz and John Cornyn in April, has now been added to the Senate's version of the bill championed by President Donald Trump.

Out of that appropriations, $85 million is directed to carry out Cornyn's Bring the Space Shuttle Home Act, which calls for Discovery to be removed from its home of the past 13 years, the National Air and Space Museum's Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center in Chantilly, Virginia, and put it on display at Space Center Houston, the official visitor complex for NASA's Johnson Space Center in Texas.

The Senate version of the One Big Beautiful Bill provides "no less than $5 million" for the "transportation of the space vehicle'' and the remainder to go towards the construction of a facility to house it.

that oughtta lower the price of eggs.

It takes money to cut waste. What were you expecting? No egregiously wasteful projects? Right @HereticBD ?

What are your thoughts on a livable wage and public assistance? What makes people who earn tips special over others who need to settle for minimum wage or getting taxed on twice the income?
That's the nature of the business though. Some positions thrive on tips. However, it's not set in stone so it can tend to be a gamble. Slow night at the restaurant means you're getting paid less.

No one is "gutting Medicaid". You should stop with the Left Cult talking points being spewed all over MSNBC. Medicaid has been filled with abuse. BBB strengthens Medicaid for those who should receive it like pregnant women, children, seniors, people with disabilities, and low income families. It eliminates waste, fraud, and abuse. It removes illegal aliens, enforces work requirements, and protects Medicaid for the truly vulnerable. If we give it away to those that shouldn't need it, it won't be there for those that actually do.
I don't know why you even bother.

So they gutted all waste with DOGE and now are defunding entitlements like basic healthcare.

And they are still adding $3 trillions EXTRA debt with this bill, for all the cries about "socialism" from American society, they have no problem voting for it as long as its not called it.

Right wingers have zero moral grounds to criticize the far left at this point, they are just as irresponsible, hopefully a centrist will win next election and try to fix this shit up, of course American society will hate him for it, but alas, that's "the worst system of government, except for all the others"

And cruelest. How a person that calls themselves a Christian is not for universal healthcare as a right used to baffle me. Now I know they are all just full of shit.

I could get the rationale if it was an unproven thing, but almost every country in the world has UHC and pretty much all developed ones have UHC, its not like some unattainable goal.

And the cost per person is cheaper in those countries. We spend more and get poorer results. The insurance companies are dug in like ticks at this point, and they will not go down without a huge fight.

Didn't he add 8.4 trillion in his first regime?

Some twat on here was pretending that selling off our land would pay for free healthcare. Fuck me, we're doomed.

Why in dafuq would the money made from selling off land go to healthcare? Knowing this admin it would go to ICE or some pork project somewhere.

I think it was meant as some backhanded dig about other countries who have free healthcare who actually don't pay more tax than us and he was trying to justify selling it off to the highest bidder.

So you were talking to an idiot. Lots of those around here.

I guess I'd prefer we have some land remain untouched. On the other hand, we have billions upon billions in natural resources we could be exploiting, like every other country in the world does.
In a country where we decry the lack of free health care, the homeless issue, etc etc etc, we refuse to exploit what we have.

Liberals think societies run on magic, I guess.
