Should we let a breed like the pit bull just die out and not have any more of them?

Pitbulls used to be illegal in Miami,FL. For some STUPID reason that ban was lifted in 2023. I blame Biden for that fuck up, He put pressure on Ron DeSantis. And i blame Biden for the illegal alien fuck up. Both fuck ups go hand in hand in my opinion.

Yea its tragic, I remember I had my ex fiancé's nephew living with us for 6 months. He was 1, we had 4 big dogs 2 of them pits. They were never around him close enough to get a bite in, they were half inside, half outside dogs on a lot of property. They were freaked out by them. If I had them around my kid and lets say for 2 years nothing has happened, I still wouldn't trust a situation of that happening. A kid can poke at their eyes and make their instincts turn or a number of things. I also would wrestle my dogs so they knew who the alpha was, i would not hurt them, just let them know i can pin them and they can't do shit about it if I want. I sure do miss those dogs though, very loyal.

Yeah, I guess to cite Saint Charlie a few people mauled to death here and there are the price we have to pay for freedom. Would be interesting to see how many people advocating the total banning/destruction of pitbulls also advocate against gun control as conceptually they seem near-identical subjects, to me.

- Filas are a sight to behold, amazing looking large dogs. Theres some videos saying they're the better guard dogs, but honestly, they're simple to big and too powerfull and temperamental to that. Better used in farms. I've sent some videos of filas to @Sinister on insta. I miss them, but honestly i like cats more, and they can be seen as pray to the Filas. My dream dog is the Dog Campeiro to become a breeder.

Interesting info man, appreciated - the thing that surprises me the most about the Fila is that I've never seen one in the UK ever, and wasn't even aware it existed, so unsure how it got on the UK banned list - surely people in the UK would need to own them for them to gain a reputation to get banned? Also had never heard of the Dog Campeiro!

this is actually at least as important a metric as the breed itself, I am sure

a rottweiler or German Shepherd in the hands of a low-rent, criminal, wife-beating moron is (IMO) significantly more likely to pose a serious threat of harming humans than a pit in a good family

Of course they are, its a very certain type of person who desires to own a pitbull. Its a massive red flag, like seeing someone with face tattoos.

This is far from true. I have a pitbull who is great with the family, loves to go on runs through the mountains with me, happy to see anyone who walks through my door. The ones that I've had have made excellent family dogs.

Wow, this chart. I'm a big dog lover and the best dog I ever knew was a pitbull terrier that my brother owned. Lived to 14 and never showed a whiff of anger or aggression. Puppy mentality until the day he died. I hate the idea of eradicating a whole breed of dogs, but the statistics on this chart are unreal. 67%?! I mean, it would be difficult to make an argument against it with stats like this.

There is an exception for those that rescue these dogs from hellish situations and instead of putting them down give them loving homes.

Nope, thats not true, my ole giant headed Fred Dog was abused horribly for the first 3 years of his life, I dont even wanna describe the horrific things that were done to him, but he was so damaged from the suffering he endured that he would cower down in the corner shaking uncontrollably with the fear of death in his eyes if a human even approached him

I rescued him from that situation by taking him away from the piece of shit that did those things to him and told him that if he wanted his dog back, he knows where I live, show up any time if he has the grapefruits

I then spent the next 10 years showing ole Fred nothing but love and care and the sweetest life he's ever known and he responded by being the most gentle, loving, amazing big giant teddy bear that wanted nothing but to snuggle and cuddle and be best friends with every human he ever met

He greeted everyone with the hugest smile you ever saw in your life til the day he passed

But according to these know it all Google dog experts with zero seconds of real life experience, I am a scum bag for loving an animal and literally saving their life and big ole lovable Fred is a beast of Satan that should've been exterminated in a death camp

And they clearly know way more about this situation than people with actual real life experience caring for these beautiful animals so it looks like you are wrong, Craze, wrong, wrong, wrong
