To be honest, they should have let them try.

2 guys and a handful of homeless recruits against around 40,000 men. I am sure they would have done fine.
 
When I read stuff like this, there are two things that come to mind:

1. Is it really that hard to get laid?

2. Where do guys like this get that much energy? This feels like climbing Mt.Everest to get a snow cone.

My thoughts exactly. Sounds like something a couple feds thought up and said "Hey! Let's convince these two retards to start making plans for this, than we can get the arrest and recognition for stopping this murerous coup!"

Luckily the FBI has not and would never do something that outrageous tho
 
These idiots didn't speak the language and were planning on invading a country ruled by war lords. They would have lasted one day. The war lords would have been showing them on social media under arrest demanding a ransom for their release.

Thomas even enlisted in the US Air Force to acquire military skills needed for the murderous takeover, the feds said, with the Air Force involved in the investigation.

He changed his initial station assignment from Ramstein Air Base in Germany to Andrews Air Base in Maryland to be close to potential homeless recruits in the DC area.

Both were also charged with persuading a minor to make child pornography, which was found on their devices.
