Some other Islam-critics/former muslims in Germany knew him very well for a long time and didn't believe that he was actually one of them, rather than a Saudi spy collecting information. Then there is the ISIS connection, which is extremely unlikely for a real Islam-critic. On top of that you have the paranoia and violence fantasies. I doubt that we will ever know the true story and all the information, some high level politicians etc. might, but not the general public.

Why would a Saudi spy be Wanted by the Saudi Government?

Generally the national census has that kind of information. That's a start.
That aside, a certain amount would inevitably stay because as you said, they're born here. But that could be given a cut off time. Say anyone born here more than 10 years ago, whatever. Anyone under that, on the boat home with their parents.
