Terminator II's biggest plot hole:

No, the T-1000 NEVER knew

In fact there's a cut scene where he has to go to the dog cage, kill the dog and see the name tag to be sure.

Er .. I suppose he would have done this anyway

Aw fuck me everything is falling apart

I disagree, he definitely had suspicions. He knew the T-800 was with John Connor at the time of the phone call so he couldn't write off the possibility that the T-800 was on the other end of the call.

The T-800 knows all too well about the T-1000s capabilities, design etc where we can only assume the same goes for the T1000's knowledge on the T-800.

Terminators are programmed primary on their mission objective and not for anything else, the T-800 had been programmed by the resistance to follow any order John Connor says, but the T-1000 wouldn't be aware. I think he was just hopeful he would return to his foster parents.

Hey, when Jon Conor was approaching fake Mom (T-1000 in disguise) ...

He was like "Come closer my son it is me your mom"

Wasn't Jon Conor close enough for the T-1000 to just stick his arm out and extend a longer assed sword to kill him??

That happened early in the movie, when the robot was fresh

Did you see how much running that robot did? It was tired by then, man

It always bugged me that the Terminator hid in the cop car crash ... who cares if his cover is blown, it's still the easiest time to kill her ... not by storming the cop headquarters later

It’s an evolving situation in which the Terminator had hoped to take her out covertly, so as not to cause too much change in the timeline, but later had to improvise because his access to her was severely limited.

--what he should have done.

By hanging up the phone the T-1000 immediately knows he's on to him.

He should have told the T-1000 to wait there and I'll be home sometime between now and tomorrow morning or something. Then the T-1000 would have stayed behind and the terminator would have had more time to leave the city with his Mom.

WRONG.

He didn't know if the phone was bugged, and every second he remained on the line may have given away their position.

Sorry, your plot hole sucks.

That's true, if people see a naked robot knocking over fruitstands and wrecking a police station on the 9 o'clock news, Skynet's chances of ever getting to the point where it can develop and launch in the future are pretty slim.

If it's just a person-looking crazy strong guy acting psycho and maybe a couple rumors floating around, not nearly so bad, even if things and people do get wrecked.

This
Storming the police station was a gamble he had to take not one he needed earler on

omg "Ok I'm coming home now, bye" wouldn't make a difference

And even if he did trace them  he would have just shown up to an empty payphone and they would have been long gone

As far as the movie made it seem, his mission was simply "kill Sarah Conor"

No caveats like "hey don't muck up the time line" etc etc

Ha! There's lots of cut scenes I like, especially the scene where they play with Arnold's chip to explain why his character changed in the movie, made a lot more sense and I wish they kept it in

But I hated the bits with melty T-1000, showing the damage and he can't control his blending technique. That part of the movie was epic and thrilling because the guy is unstoppable and can take no damage, showing him injured cheapens it.

Honestly what stands out most in T2 to me is how self aware it is, hard to believe it came from the same guy who delivered Avatar with an absolute and total lack of self awareness. Modern James Cameron would have had Miles Tyson as an evil corporate scumbag who refuses to listen to peaceful advice from the future not a nice family man who exposes the danger of Sarah being so fuelled by hatred.

On point

I still don't know how that bike/stuntman's spine didn't shatter to pieces

If you pause the chase scene where "Arnold" grabs "Eddie Furlong" off the bike, you see it's a very bad Arnie impersonator and an elderly midget for John Conor

This doesn't do it justice but
