Other than Shevchenko last weekend, can you name any fighters at 155 or below that won an undisputed title fight at 36? I know you can be old AF at HW and LHW but the lighter weight classes are a young man/woman's game. And if you're 35/36, generally you need to be a better wrestler - i.e. Woodley over Till and Belal over Edwards at 170 and Shevchenko over Grasso at 125.
Rocky Pennington just turned 36. Meaning, she won the title when she was 35.

Pennington won the title at age 35

The only reason they may not be booking Suarez for a title shot is her injury history, as they're uncertain she will be able to make it, but even then, that might be a stretch. If Zhang was active, these are both viable challengers to her belt and it seems stupid to burn one. The UFC will UFC. As is, this is a good fight. I think Suarez takes this.
It's still horrible booking Virna could be backup if Suarez doesn't make it to the title fight.

The only excuse is Zhang being injured and I love her but she's been an awfully inactive champion.

Not to mention that WMMA, especially high level WMMA, is far to young to draw any strong conclusions from the data presented to us from the very short history.

The speculation here is reaching critical levels. If they fight I'll watch. It is what it is.

Like I said other than Shevchenko, I can't name any fighter at 155 or below, male or female who won or defended the belt at 36. I was also specifically addressing the assertion that Jandiroba (who is 36 and would be 37 when she fights for the belt IF she gets past Suarez) has been aged out of title contention. This when the oldest 115 champs to date have been 34 at the time of winning or defending the belt. I'm not saying 35 or even 36 is impossible but magic 8 ball says, "not likely."

I had to look at her fight record to see if I had missed something because since day 1 all I've seen this giant do is run over people. I thought maybe I missed one of her losses but nope nothings changed she's still dominating the dwarves in her division.
She has one fight at 115 in the past five years. People who peaked playing high school football live off past accomplishments less than Suarez does.

Virna should be fighting for the title, Suarez should be fighting in an eliminator, she she failed to appear in one earlier this year

Lmao! Boo hoo. The reason Suarez fought Andrade is because Vilma failed to appear against Suarez. That was suppose to be the title eliminator. They need to handle it,.

That was over five years ago.

And it was her UFC debut, on short notice, against a former champion
She's lost all her fights to very good grapplers. Stuffing a couple takedowns from Loopy shouldn't give you guys that much confidence. Maybe I'm missing something. What do you think Vilmas path to victory is, outside of praying Tatiana doesn't make it to the cage?

I need a Rosas Jr on Jandiroba porn asap

She is a submission specialist who could definitely catch Suarez, and she is much stronger than she looks.

Suarez is so inactive it's hard to know where she's at, but she didn't look like a world-beater against Nina Nunes or Montana De La Rosa, and neither of them is anywhere near the fighter Jandiroba is.

Suarez is a tough matchup for her stylistically, but I think she can definitely get it done. Suarez should certainly be the favourite, but Jandiroba is a live dog IMO.

Nina Nunes, really bro. That's the fight you're referencing, lol. The fight where she had very little feeling in one side of her body. If that fight tells you anything, it tells you Tatiana has some screws loose to enter a cage dealing with left side atrophy... and win. For the record, I think Jandiroba is very good. I just think Suarez top pressure is elite.
