Good actress too.

Cailee Spaeny is the actress who portrayed Jessie in Civil War (2024 movie). Before you mentioned her, I never even thought that she could portray Ellie in this TV series. I'm rather certain that she would've been a wonderful choice.

In my opinion, Bella Ramsey did well in Season 1. However, I'm forced to imagine what could've been.

Also, why did Joel force Ellie to give him her pistol? Ellie is the one that saved Joel's life. She rescued Joel in Episode 4 of Season 1.

I gotta start watching season 1. Kaitlyn Dever is maybe the best actor under 30 and is worth watching in just about anything.

Yeah, I gotta give this show another try. I started watching the first episode but got distracted throughout the entire thing due to incessant texts messages from a co-worker, lol. After that I just gave up and moved on to other shows.

Bella Ramsay potentially one of the biggest HBO miscast I've seen.. especially for part 2 Ellie.

They've obviously attempted to mitigate it by picking a younger/smaller in stature actress to play Abby, but it hasn't worked.

Good set up of season 2...kind of surprised by the opening scene change.

Good set up episode.

I had big hopes, but S2E1 was pretty bad. A lot of social contagion creep. No where to go but up I guess.

I got about ten minutes in and it was so boring I turned it off. I marathons season 1 long after it was all out. I think I'll do that for season 2 as well if I ever get around to watching it.

Dug the first episode. A few twists to make it its own thing.

Was stoked to see Gustavo Santaolalla get an appearance lol.

Episode 1: The bratty and illogical choices continue. I haven't played the videogames so I trust this is a faithful rendition. But 95% of the episode is melodrama and 5% actual survival horror. I get that this is called "character development" but we're not here for Dostoyevsky.

IMDB has Pedro Pascal listed for 16 episodes for The Last of Us. Hmmmm....

Probably some shitty flashback episodes where they get away from the story.

I liked the first episode. And yes I agree the main girl character is extremely annoying. I had forgotten how cheesy the show was but it's still fun. Something to watch

I was thinking the same as this show is definitely heavy on the flashbacks...but every single episode? I'm guessing he ain't dying until maybe the final ep.

Really excited. Loved the first episode, just a couple minor gripes.

I thought the glaring exposure to the Seattle team was a little too heavy. In the podcast they talked about how it's harder to introduce Abby without a backstory because in the game you are introduced to her by playing as her, which is a good point.

I thought Ellie and Dina were just a little too silly and careless about walking into the dark supermarket. Even if they thought there was only one clicker, it's life and death. They could have portrayed their arrogance and flippant nature without the extra emotes while silently communicating. In season 1 a single clicker was a totem of dread. I understand that the atmosphere of Jackson can blind people to that; that's what they're going for, but it took me out of the immersion if only briefly.

Stalker scene was 10/10. These are clearly people who love the games and more importantly understand why the games are good.

Wonderful terrifying surprise at the end. I honestly don't know who gets the better deal in this- the people who know the games or the people who don't.
