Tatiana would be as active as Zhang, if not worse

What prime? She’s constantly injured
I just want to see her in a title fight cause by all rights it should've happened by now if not for injuries.
I don't know if she beats Zhang. But I think she can beat Jandirova.

Lol that's fair, let's say hypothetical prime then.

nobody has ever made quick work of jandiroba.

True, Jandiroba is a tough out. But she's 36 and her last win was over 37 yo Lemos. This is WMMA where the talent pool is shallow and the SW top 15 are a bunch of 40 year old childless cat ladies but once you're mid 30's, your days at the top are numbered. The oldest 115 champs to win or defend were Esparza and Zhang at 34. Esparza lost the belt to Weili at 35 and Weili herself is now 35.

IF she can stay healthy after Jandiroba, Suarez will be 34 when she gets her TS. Then I see her defending until she's 35 MAYBE 36 before injuries or father time dethrones her.

Over a 7 year ufc career, zhang has averaged 1.5 fights a year. This inactivity from her is the norm.
She's no more inactive in title fights than the former SW champion Rose and the former FLW champ Grasso and current BW champion Pennington. And she's more active than #1 SW contender Suarez.

Zhang's defenses have been 7, 13 (quarantine), 9, 8, and now at least 11 months til her next.

Grasso's defenses were 6 months and 12 months (TUF season). (9 month average)
Rose's defenses were 5, 6, and 7 months between, except for one 13 month break for spinal stenosis. (7.75 months average)
Pennington's first defense is coming 9 months after she won the title. (9 month average)

If the winner of Suarez-Jandiroba on 12/7 can turn around and fight in March, then Zhang will be shooting for an average 9.6 months at best. She is the most inactive of those picks.

Neither challenger is really a huge draw, so I doubt they care about burning one of the challengers.

THIS. Strawweight used to be a young woman's division, but it aged out along with it's fighters. Weili, Esparza, Pennington, Hill, Jandiroba, Xiaonan Lemos, Rodriguez... All of them in the second half of their 30s. There's not a single contender in their late twenties. These hoes are aging, and not a single up and comer has been able to break through the old guard. Tatiana is the only one below 35 worth anything for the title picture. Fffs sake Jessica Andrade is younger than all of these hoes, and she's the woman with the most fights in UFC history.

The younger women are at Flyweight, and even there only Blanchfield and Barber are near title contention. The rest of them are in their thirties too.

There it is.

The winner is NEXT. Period.

Best of luck to both. I’m not sure how Tatiana’s body is holding up.

No prediction until after weigh-ins.

But that is as high level as it gets.

No controversy. May the better fighter win.

What's amazing is that of the top 15 ranked 115ers, only three are under 30. Gillian Robertson and Tabatha Ricci are 29 and Iasmin Lucindo is 22 and doesn't even have a wikipedia page. Lucindo is fighting 37 yo Marina Rodriguez in 2 weeks.

Gee, it’s almost as if mma takes a longer time to get good at it. It’s also almost as if fighters generally start later than in other sports, as until recently, there was no viable amateur system
