WBA sanction Gervonta Davis-Lamont Roach Jnr for December 14
Lamont Roach Jnr has been given “special permission” to move up from super featherweight to fight Gervonta “Tank” Davis for the WBA lightweight title on December 14
I’m not blaming Loma for anything anymore, him and Kambosos only 2 guys who fought 3 names at the weight, Tank and Shakur haven’t fought anyone. Only reason those guys are undefeated is because they won’t fight anyone.Blame Loma. Expect a stacked undercard. Surprised this isn't in DC.
Apparently the arena had NHL games on those datesBlame Loma. Expect a stacked undercard. Surprised this isn't in DC.
Shut up with your facts and reasoning, this is a boxing forum. Loma is obviously ducking Tank despite asking for that fight for 5+ yearsOk bout what about the last 8 years where Tank ignored Loma.
Tank did not turned down Rayo … it was discussed … but Pitbull activated his rematch clause … then there was nothing to discuss furtherTank and Loma were negotiating. Loma said he didn't want to fight this year. I don't work in the business, I don't know the specifics of the past 8 years. I don't trust the Top Rank PR machine, and PBC has no problem working with others to make big fights. There were negotiations for this November, and Loma said "nah". Seems pretty clear to me. Hopefully he regains his fighting spirit and they fight next year. I've never really understood of this fight given how bad Loma looked in his loss to Teo. I don't think this fight will be competitive, and wouldn't have been in the past 3-4 years.
The undercard is a much more pressing concern than complaining about a better opponent. Every other top LW is with Matchroom or TR. I do wish Tank had accepted the fight with Rayo at 140, but Pitbull had a rematch clause (which I wouldn't be exercising if I was team Pitbull). I need an intriguing undercard, and usually PBC stacks Tank cards. Also stunned this isn't in DC, but I'm' guessing the Houston location foreshadows a Charlo appearance.
