BRUSSELS (Reuters) - Support for European Union membership has hit a 35-year high across the bloc, with a strong majority of citizens saying it has been a force for good in their country, even in Britain which is set to leave next year.

Just continuing the trend of improved numbers. I guess they will only rise because the acceptance amount young people is so much higher. There will be a generation soon that probably considers themselves European first.
Interesting to see is that the low point was during the debt crisis 2011 not during the hight migrant crisis.
I guess its still true that people are most interested in a good economy because it looks good for most EU countries at the moment.

I wouldn't put too much stock in a survey conducted by the EU itself. I'm sure the USSR had the same kind of reports put up every year in Pravda.

The voting percentages in EU-related voting, are still laughably (and undemocratically) low.

Good to see.

At the same time, divise powers are more influential than ever before. England, Poland, Hungary, Italy. In a lesser way, Austria, France, and the Czech Republic.

How long until the EU is run by Sharia Law?

I'm all for the EU but damn I'm against forcing countries into taking in mass amounts of refugees.
People need help, countries that can help should, but there needs to be a limit decided by the countries themselves.

And no I don't hate Muslims... I don't just mean Muslim refugees, they could be non-religious/atheist or Christian and I'd feel the same way

It's because most of what the EU parliament votes on and concerns itself with is boring and uncontroversial.

So anything to suggest that EU conducted polls are akin to soviet level propaganda or are you just making shit up?

Yeah, but those numbers are reflected by other surveys as well.
Even the Poles are like 70+% in favor of the EU. They are actually some of the biggest supporters.

I think the numbers are legit because all those national surveys back them up.

There's going to be so much support in the future!

Most haven't experienced the sheer joy yet.

I agree if those countries haven't received any money from EU to take those refugees in. If they did receive money, they should be able to refuse the refugees and pay the money back.

Would you trust a poll on Trump's popularity conducted by Donald Trump's government?

If there is a rise in EU's popularity, then it is because the EU has kept their nose out of people's business, and have stayed under the radar for the most part, since their last bunch of screw-ups.

A quiet, non-intrusive EU is the best kind of a union that one can hope for.

Well, Finland was voted the happiest country on Earth, and the municipality that I happen to live in, was voted Finland's happiest place to live in. In my neighbourhood, I got a 20-year long opiate addict and another guy who wants to kill himself, so who knows. I doubt anybody asked them for their opinions on the subject.

If this is the happiest place to live on Earth, then God help us.

"The EU is running out of money to pay African countries to take action to stop would-be migrants travelling to Europe, diplomats have warned."

So you don’t have anything then, ok thanks.

once Scotland becomes independent we will be re-applying. I dont understand the hate he EU gets. Its been beneficial for Scotland, far more so than our relationship with England
