I wonder what the earliest showing is this morning

It's going to Lose Momentum for when FF4 comes out , people want a FF4 movie that doesn't suck.
Yep. I'm actually surprised some casual moviegoers that I know are thinking of checking out First Steps because it's a new reboot. I can understand if it's Superman because he's iconic. Anyway, the latest buzz is some that have seen the first 30 minutes are praising it as one of the best MCU movie since Endgame. Sometimes you can tell if a movie is good if the studio splurges in their marketing campaign. And both Superman and First Steps are getting major marketing push.

@Dragonlordxxxxx How do you rate Batman vs Superman (2016)?
I gave it a 5.5 rating.

You can read my review of BvS if you want:

I guess you already know why I asked that. My god that movie was a mess. The makers must have been on acid.

I didn't know why you asked. I think this thread is our first interaction, so I don't know anything about your taste or preference. I didn't know if you were a BvS defender or hater.

Yeah, that movie was such a mess. So much potential and down the drain because WB wanted to fast track their own universe to compete with Marvel Studios and rush their Justice League movie. It didn't help that the story they chose and the direction they took it in were just wrong.

Who? I was a huge MCU fan but nowadays I can't even be bothered to watch their movies for free on Disney Plus. True story.
We still watch the movies but we've sort of checked out on the shows. It's just to much. I was trying to explain to my wife who was in the thunderbolts and she couldn't remember anyone other than Bucky. We will really enjoyed the movie though.

I may check that out on when it streams but they really just lost my interest with the direction they took', to the point I don't hate or live them, I just don't care. I'm more excited for this supes movie then I have been for any super hero movie in years.

RDJ's a big enough draw to bring some fans back, along with casuals who'll only turn up to a hype-train movie.
You maybe right. I was actually pissed when I heard they where bringing him back, reeks of desperation and then not changing the right things.

They'll still turn up just to see the Doctor Doom Post Credits Scene. ;)
W en Doom is frustrating - if they were goung to re use an actor Fassbender who would be better for part and a better actor was right there. Let alone Cillian who'd be perfect then marvel chooses Iron Man .......... no sense. Most recognized face in MCU you gonna re brand as the bad guy everyone wants and you must hit a hrs with . Epic stupidity

Marvel has legitimately made some good movies since endgame imo. Spider Man no way home, Deadpool and Wolverine, Shang Chi, even the Dr Strange-Madness movie was pretty good and I felt didn’t deserve the hate. Guardians 3 was great, and the guardians Christmas special was great too.

I guess Quantummania did stink, so did eternals, Thor was panned, black panther 2 stunk…

They have been hit and miss but the highs have been pretty high.

Agree with you - and @Streeter - RDJ, iconic as he is, would not have been my first choice. Cillian Murphy was born to play Doom.

Anyone else watching this movie and think...havent I seen parts of this movie not too long ago? It had a lot of the same elements as Black Adam. Parts of a justice league, Super powerful being gives himself up...I couldnt help but think I just saw this movie. Mr terrific was basically Peirece Brosnans character. They were both awesome though. I liked hawkperson better in black adam.

Not to say this is a bad movie. It isnt.
Im not sure how I liked how it started so abruptly. Were like 50% way through luthers plans right off the bat. I also didnt like
that superman got beat up so much in this. The weird scifi was strange too. We have giant kaiju monsters and portals to other dimensions humans have created? None of it was really explained
Im going to watch this again cause I think I will like it more a second viewing. I say all of this as someone who liked ZSJL so maybe my opinion is trash lol.

And he of cost less money that RDJ. Even Giancarlo would of been good but ........ marvel already wasted him on a trivial character. But yeah Cillian would be perfect but we get RDJ who no matter how much make up . Look ma there's Iron man.

Part of it too , is Pedro Pascal , even though he learns hard into Pandering when he's doing interviews , his performances are still Top notch. Examples for the Non Last of Us 2 Game players when he gets Axed in Season 2 that eliminates any care for the rest of the show for a good Number of viewers.

You're not the only one. I even commented back in July 2023 that this felt like a Black Adam movie.

Why does this feel like a Black Adam move...

Black Adam movie adds Hawkman, Atom Smasher, Cyclone and Doctor Fate.
Superman: Legacy adds Hawkgirl, Mister Terrific and a Green Lantern.

It just feels like a similar move. I hope Legacy doesn't use these characters just as a punching bag for Superman.

I think Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner will be one of the best things about this movie especially if they adapt the obnoxious, abrasive personality from his earlier years in comics.

Mmm, I would give more credit to the character he portrayed rather than the actor himself for viewers exiting the show.

I really enjoyed it, didn’t love it but I REALLY liked it a lot. First off what worked.

Superman: The obvious one, David is the best Superman we’ve gotten since Reeves who is still the best imo.

Lex: Wow, Hoult really delivered here big time. Such a pure hater but such an absolute genius. I really like where they are taking the character.

Mr Terrific: Man did I enjoy this character and want to see more ASAP.

Lois: This was the best Lois I’ve seen by far. Spunky, smart, always digs for the truth no matter what.

Krypto: Any dog lover will immediately Love Krypto.

The Tone: I loved the tone, unapologetically comic booky and hopeful. Exactly what a Superman movie should be.

I could’ve done without the pocket universe and Metmorpho. Not necessarily at all IMO. Matter of fact most of the justice gang outside of Mr Terrific were unnecessary. I wish they would’ve kept the story more simple and focused more on the daily planet like the first Spider-Man focused on the Bugle.

Also the humor was kind of hit or miss and could have used less.

Overall 8.5 out of 10, Im definitely see the potential of this new DCU and would love to see more.
