Sup?

Hopefully I do Jim.
It's on you to decide what you want.

That being said. You are sort of proving multiple things.

You aren't focused on 1 thing.

I guess you're too old now to be pro at anything anymore. Or simply not good enough. You are b level at a lot of things. A level being a pro. B being good but not pro. C being a solid hobbist. D being a regular Joe. S+ being trabaho the best in the universe.

I'm off to the gym however I got no mouthpiece, I got it but it's not melted and my kitchen is gone. New kitchen comed next month. Perhaps I can record some bag hitting. Just fitness gym but got someone to work with. Melt my mouthpiece bitch 😁.

In regards to you asking to see proper technique on the bag from the best athlete from the begining of time, infinity and before, Trabaho.

It doesn't make any sense to focus on one thing or put all of your eggs in one basket. Powerlifters dont train like they are prepping for a meet all year long anyways at least the good ones. They bring up other qualities at certain points of the year. Unless you are going to be breaking world records or are using your competition success to be a coach there is really no reason to specifically focus on powerlifting at all your entire life. Nobody in this group is in danger of breaking world records except Kyle Keough at one point. Strongman is actually a better style to train year round if you are looking to be a more well rounded strength athlete your entire life. Training like a cross fitter or hybrid athlete isn't a bad option either. It helps to be strong in my primary sport and you can use the power lifts to help with that but it wouldn't be the wisest use of my time since I have taken baseball more seriously(a primary skill based sport)to train like a powerlifter year round. If I didnt give a crap about being any good at a team sport I could just powerlift to my hearts content to get short term ego boosts from adding 5-10 pounds to my max ever few weeks but doesn't do much to improve your ability in a team sport and walk onto the baseball field and not be able to maintain my desired level of play. I would hate to be the bearer of bad news but strength is not the pinnacle of athleticism but rather your ability to move well is.

Powerlifting is a hobby for most of us dum dum. Not sure why you still don’t understand that. It’s kind of like what recreational league baseball is for you.

To each their own but seeing how to try to make sub par genetics squat 800 pounds seems silly hobby to me. There are of course much worse things you could be doing.

ASU I’m just curious but what else do you guys want me to do? Would you like to me tell everybody I’m a terrible athlete? What’s going to satisfy you people? Would it make you feel better if I lied about my experiences with sports?
You did lie, about your mock meet numbers. I don't care about your routes, batting average or the way you flail on a bag. I care about one thing, you redeeming yourself in regards to your lifting claims. I want you to be the best.

Also, you know you're not a terrible athlete and I am sure nobody would ever say that about you, especially for a 40 year old.

I don't even lift weights. I just guesstimate my maxes. I just take my old maxes add some weight based on if I tried and just go with that as my total.
Jokes aside If being close to hitting world records or being a pro etc is the bar for a sport. Everyone might as well quit.

I didnt lie I already explained it earlier. If you looked at my logs or videos that I have posted over the years you would know im not lying.

This actually isn't that far from the truth as far as im concerned now.

Or you could just go off your actual numbers for things based off what you have done and just focus on the part of you getting better.

It's a world record for a reason. Only one person can be that person.

All could have been sorted by just putting up a recent video if you chose to, but you feel you might be able to train up to those claimed numbers and want to do that instead of admitting you can't hit that weight, as shown from the videos you did put up.

Hopefully you do the meet and hit the numbers you want. Then everyone wins.

@ROcknrollracing which meet are you signing up for? The Powerlifting America Gameday Barbell meet on December 13th or the USAPL Novice & OGs meet on the 21st?

There are plenty of recent videos.

Yes only one person can be that person and if you aren’t even in the conversation for breaking a record than what is the point other than saying that it’s “for fun”.

You put up videos well short of the numbers claimed.

Plenty of reasons.

Your own sport of baseball is the perfect example at the level you play. Play, train or compete to be the best athlete you can be.
No different to someone entering a local powerlifting meet, running event or BJJ/ MMA fight outside of a major league.

You are still competing against like minded people. It gives you a specific event to prepare, a chance to see what does and doesn't work instead of just training in a gym by yourself or with friends and believing you can guesstimate a max lift.

It's the same reasons they used to run the comps in this forum back in the day. Something to train for and compete in, with a low barrier for entry.

They actually weren't well short of the numbers I claimed. 545 is not far off of 600, a 295 bench for reps is not well short of what I claimed. a 445 squat that you saw in my log is not far off of 500 that is like two 10 week cycles away from those numbers. What does any of this have to do with what I said anyways?

Edit. There really isn’t much to think about while training for strength unless you are mentally incapable of loading plates on a bar and counting sets and reps. Do you really need somebody standing next to you saying “you got this man”! Or to follow a program. The power lifters in this thread like geek out on technique to game lifts when in reality for the vast majority of people reasonable technique that is non injurious is good enough.

for 1500 you need that 600 DL, 500 squat and a freakin 400 pound BP. Yes it´s far off. Like 200-300 pounds of your real current form. Not using your best numbers from random points the last years.

Each one of those is 50-65lbs off... Thats more than an extra plate each side...

What fantasy wprld do you live in where you can just add a plate each side to your 1rms because it's "close"?

I never said I would total 1500 I said I would try.

It isn’t adding a plate to anything it is simple math. A lower intermediate like myself is going to add 5% to a lift every 8-12 weeks if a well designed program is followed.

You’re being pretty optimistic. One thing to consider is you’re no spring chicken Eric. Those gains stop rolling in once you get older.
