Feels like Enho is just standing right in front of everyone this basho. Seems like all of his bouts have the same ending, same exact fall and everything.

Still rooting for Terunofuji but Mitakeumi beating him could make for a very wild final day

He still uses some of the techniques but he's definitely not as mobile as he was. He has Aminishiki type leg wraps going on and he's over 300 lbs now. Still one of the saddest things to happen since I have been watching sumo is him blowing his knees out so early in his career, he could have been one of the best this generation

So everythings finished and a great comeback story. Definitely the greatest I ever saw in Sumo has materialized.

My bout of the day was in Juryo: Meisei vs Hoshoryu in the Playoffs.

And a great comeback from behind by Endo to kachikoshi.

Having seen Enho the first time. I like lighter fighters but not that light. Somethings missing for my taste. I agree very technical but I prefer the 120-150kg technical fighters.

Watching this basho I realized how much I miss Harumafuji. What a shame that he did retire under these circumstances.

Will take a timeout of SD now for some time. Getting picked on by a "moderator" does that. Not a big thing and a nice way to go away for some time with this basho.

Now I hope Terunofuji can carry on to a long career and continue to do well.

Juryo 6-man playoff was fun even though Meisei vs Hoshoryu was really the only good bout. I'd like to see the stats on the last time (if ever) someone had to face 2 stablemates in the same day, the final 3 of the playoff were all from Tatsunami

starting off with the 6-way playoff was a blast. if only Ichinojo had won and made it a 7-way playoff, i don't even know how they would have worked that out.

Terunofuji winning the tournament was so great though. he looked excellent and even though his knees are still obviously not at 100%, he's still showing a lot of strength and i think he's managing his knees well during matches, not putting too much pressure on them.

12-3 in an ozeki debut tournament is great for Asanoyama, especially with so much time off.

all of the sanyaku guys did really well this tournament. part of that is probably having two yokozuna and an ozeki not complete the tournament, but still all of them getting winning records, and three going 11-4 is fantastic.

Abi turned in his resignation request. Really frustrated with all of this, it was stupid of Abi yeah, but the JSA really seems to be trying to make an example out of nothing instead of addressing the actual issues sumo has

frankly, i don't have a huge issue with Abi retiring if that's what happens. fun wrestler, and i can appreciate guys that don't follow the JSA in lockstep, but his issues were pretty distasteful and showed he wasn't taking any real responsibility for his actions. i think he was often just making problems for himself (that extended to the whole sport) and not really taking them seriously.

Might have to look into putting stuff on different sites. Miselet moved to VK and that seems to be pretty much open game for the time being for uploads. I'm trying out Vimeo after Youtube and Dailymotion both axed my videos. Japan seems almost more strict with this stuff than most US media entities
