I know there are a few arguments that can be made against this, but I would be in full support of some kind of IQ test that needed to be passed to have children with strong repercussions if you fail and still procreate.

It’s not about effort. Teachers don’t have the time, resources or authority to teach ghetto/trashy kids basic manners. When they do attempt to discipline kids, the parents complain to administration or the school board and the teacher is told to lay off.

That's a cop out. They have time to have the kids watch a video for who knows how long instead of actually teaching.

Is this the greatest threat to our future? Ill tempered and impulsive individuals procreating at an accelerating rate? Is there an ethical way to curb this?
Maybe a bigger focus in our education system on just how big of a task raising a child can be, and the ramifications of being a bad parent?

The problem is people who make bad decisions are likely to have offspring who also make bad decisions. Having children that you can't afford to take care of or the mindset to take care of is probably the worst decision that can be made. Maybe there will be enough of their offspring that do make better decisions. Of course the economy depends on population growth.

As long as our government continues to pay poor, uneducated, unmarried women to have babies, this will never end. Gotta get that guv'ment check every month. We are generations deep into people that are born into welfare and die on welfare. It is a culture and way of life. Welfare, subsidized housing, food stamps...... for millions it's not even looked at as good or bad, it just "is".

Some forms of government subsidies are temporary and have a finite limit, like unemployment. But, as long as you have a fresh baby in the house, the checks keep comin'.....

This, and to make things worse it's not the child's "fault", even if they make 0 effort. I have a friend who is a high school teacher in the Philippines. Not only do they follow our "no red pens for grading" because it hurts "confidence", they aren't even allowed to fail students. So there is 0 incentive to even try.

That's exactly why there's so many stupid fucktards in the world. Every time I see homeless tents on the main streets here, I think about the obese teacher's union leader asking for more money "for the children" (not for him to buy more expensive chocolate cake and fine dining).

Exactly. Dumbshit mothers here are likely to bite your fucking head off for even suggesting how they discipline or raise their kids. I was on a long flight and behind me were grandparents with grandkids who kept kicking my seat. I had a strong feeling something bad would happen if I scolded them.

You realize that while you're filming the "dumbfucktard" on his phone, someone else will be filming you being a "dumbfucktard" on your phone, and someone will be filming them filming you? Then when 4 people film the same guy, the fine collectors are paying out $400 out of a $200 fine and all the filmers now owe $200 themselves, and round and round we go.

Yeah, why should parents be bothered to raise their own kids and teach them manners when we could hand off that responsibility to teachers who have 30 kids in a room at a time and only get them about 5 hours/week for a couple of months of their lives?

Many, many teachers are forced to "make an effort" because mom and dad don't or aren't around . . . a teacher's job is to teach the appropriate curriculum and often ends up with requiring teachers to show students what keep your hands to yourself, your mouth shut, and walk in a straight line means.

And I definitely think teachers need to teach good manners and morals in school. They also need the ability to discipline when students are out of line.

Not all kids have good parents and they need to learn good behaviour from somewhere. People here say that it isn't the teacher's job, but it always has been until very recently. They still had the strap when I started school. It was strict and we learned to be respectful, honest, and to speak using proper grammar.
