What do you guys think about this? I think it's much ado about nothing.

It's a private school and they can do whatever the fuck they want, but the dialogue and remarks used here make it seem like they just saw fucking hitler rising from the fucking dead.

Two Long Island high school students have been suspended for allegedly bringing a Confederate flag to school.

"Heroic constraint" is just ridiculous. Punish the kid for being a historically ignorant dip shit. But don't act like its some huge accomplishment that the should-be-offended students didn't physically attack him. Suspended indefinitely is too much. Make them stand in front of the Student Body and apologize for being assholes, and doing something that was offensive, and leave it at that for a change.

Anyway, you don't fuck around in the Catholic schools on Long Island. People have been expelled for a lot less. There would always be 1 or 2 expelled joining us at the public school I went to each year in high school. Shit, my dad was kicked out growing up.

Every once in a while you'll see some hick with a monster truck pickup riding around with the confederate flag here, but in general, LI obviously isn't Dixieland central, thankfully. Kids probably did it as a goof. But it was stupid. They'll be fine, their lives will go on in public schools.
