Wed: Great conditioning session/boxing.
Rounds on the heavy bag nonstop, coach set it up like the Bas Rutten tapes actually calling out numbers with corresponding combos for each number.
During breaks between rounds were BW exercises; burpees, pushups, v-ups, etc.

Then suicides with BW exercises at each end of the suicide followed by straight punches for time on the heavy bag. After a few rounds of that we finished with leaps down the mats, then we died.

Felt great, killed us, will be better off for it.
 
Thurs: had to skip BJJ both times due to some crap, so lifted.

Good stuff, taking a break from deadlifting hoping it will shoot up by trying other things. Did good mornings for the first time, hope to get to 225 soon.
 
Hit 2 more lifting sessions this week, I added in good mornings in place of deadlifts. I imagine a few sessions of squats and good mornings plus a break from deads will push me into the 500 mark I s desperately desire.

BJJ in the AM followed by BW conditioning and padwork. Off to watch me some HDNet Fights.
 
Lifted Sunday night.

Mon hit gi BJJ at 6, followed by 10 rounds heavy bag work, followed by sparring.

BJJ: Kept top control well, hit 2 ankle locks and an armbar. 2 rounds from knees and 1 round guard passing. Seems like my go to gi pass is to grab both lapels in one hand, same side knee in the butt, back up with high posture and break his leg down. I wish I knew names for this crap!
Anyway it works well, keeps me clear of armbars (which they always try during that pass) and I end up side control. However it's time for me to learn a couple more passes and get good at them, ex0and my repertoire.
Lots of success with mounting by turning towards the hips, hold down his hip flexors, and shoot a leg up and over, going to use it a lot more.
Also been keeping the underhook and controlling well from top half guard lately. Just realized that getting the underhook from top works the same as it does from bottom, its just pummeling kind of.

Tried something new from top half today, after securing underhook, flatten him out, I slide my near knee/shin over his near arm pinning it to the mat. My near side arm grabs his collar (which he cannot defend as he has no arms) and then I X choke, hit it 2x, pretty cool.

Sparring standup sucked as I hurt me rib in the 3rd round due to flying knee and had to stop.

Went home, eat/shower, off to gym for 30 minutes bike, 50 pullups/50 dips.
Have to go eat as much as humanly possible, play COD: World at War, and lift in the AM.

Power shrug is back, did high rep today. DB Shoulder press, I'm happy and will max out next workout, hope to hit the 85's. Goodmorning, second time doing it, better form, went lower, one more session my form should be great. I'll hit 2-3 more sessions of it then deadlift, then another month of goodmornings, max out dead, and see how gains went. I expect to be impressed.

Back to go sleep at gym and if I can wake up in time do some conditioning in the morning. Wed night is Boxing. I want to eat a baby and as always..

Back to my on/off relationship with my log here.

Record improved to 9-3 as I won by decision in RIE-MMA in PA on 10/10 and then again by 2nd round sub in Asylum Fight League in NJ on 10/24.
Was to fight again in Asylum on 11/7, got canceled, and now have a bout agaisnt Mike Fischetti of TSK on Dec 11th.

Joined a dedicated boxing gym to work on my hands and just get a new gym to work out in, new motivation. A nice dirty and grimey place in Mastic called Atlantic Boxing.

Been keeping to my 2-3 a days now getting ready for this, running every other day, lifting 2x a week, conditioning, and I have een steady back at BJJ every day the past 2 weeks, will be training the BJJ hard for a while now.

The last two fights I took where the first where I took anyone down, and I made good use of it with double legs mixed with my strikes to work top game in a fight for the first time. On 10/10 I was hesitant as I has never been on top before in a bout, but on 10/24 it was all good, this is why you get experience in ammy and why it helps.
