Strength training for the puny

knee flexion...hmmm...way to point out something obvious that i'd overlooked. though it does feel gay laying there leg curling. like, the prison rape position. but it's for a good cause, knee health.
 
The trapped nerve in my lower back was playing up so day two had to be skipped. May try to train on friday, we'll have to see (would probably be more sensible to just rest and let this thing heal, but that's never stopped me before).
 
Starting to loose patience with this shit, backs fucking not healing.

All I've done is grip training, doing reverse curls with my eagle loops is great, hands have to perform a sort of finger curl as you lift.
 
Smashy sorry to hear about your injury. Cobras and other stretches?

I had chronic back pain for 6 months....trapped nerve i suppose...high rep hyperextensions helped A LOT>....so give them a try whether on a machine, with bands, or perhaps bw and light weight?
 
Funnily enough it turned up just before I got the back trouble, I've been using a lot of it's tricks to help me work through it, I'm hoping to be back to training in a few days, it's almost sorted itself out now.
 
How close are you to bending the bastard now?
 
Alan - not really got a clue just yet haven't got any consistent bending in for a while. Will start up a new cycle of bending fairly soon, I've been concentrating on grippers and that's gone really well, but I think it's time for a change.

I've trained the title of my log, I haven't really been training for a fight in quite a while and with my current job schedule, impending surgery and urge to fcus on lifting I don't see it in the forseeable future.

Of course for the new title to be apropriate I might have to actually lift something once in a while.

Fuck it, I think I'm going to the gym tomorrow, whether my back's healed or not, just have to trust myself to be carfeul.

Not too bad, dunno if you saw already but, I'm now a supervisor at a GNC. Still waiting on a surgery date, but hopefully my back will behealed up in the next day or two, feeling a lot better today.

Hows things going for you?

I'm not to bad. Got a cold at the mo so not training, which is annoying because thailand soon.

Considering becoming a weekend warrior with 21 unit, but still up in the air (what with my eye sight being piss poor and they don't have another intake till march/april)
 
I did in my back by having a cold. Should still make the Army, hoping for May, but will have to see what the wait time is after my op.

It's the right eye that's most important (shooting) for army intake, can't remember what the standard is but I pass only because it's my left that's the poor eye.
 
I was told 3:1 in both eyes is needed

Unfortunately I don't know what it is at the moment


Have to wait a year after laser eye surgery before you can apply which is a bit shit.

Handing my 2.5 to co-workers and laughing as they fail to do much more than set it x a lot of reps.

Closing 2.5 with ease and watching them feel pathetic at my awesomre grip strength x a lot of reps.

then I bent some nails.

Really want to get back to real training, my old ROM in lower back is returning slowly but surely, will be back to hauling heavy stuff off the floor in no time.
 
Fitted a pullup bar to the office door at my work today.

130 pullups - done in sets of 5, one every 15 minutes.

Back's feeling a lot better, should be back to training soon.

Thanks, my back was feeling better the other day, but now it feels back to shite again, may go see a chiropractor on monday, shit's getting annoying.
