Television Stranger Things 4 (New Trailer)

I think it's pretty clear the show should have ended after 1 season, which I believe was actually their plan.

The mystery is almost all gone, which is what made season 1 fun. Now we just get new characters that add nothing, old characters that have become pointless, a new bad guy for them to defeat, while they beat us over the head with ham-fisted references to 80's pop culture.

Singing the Never Ending Story song definitely got a laugh at me, but I don't need multiple episodes of Evil Dead ripoffs (oh, I mean "homages") , with Evil Dead posters in the background in case you don't get it. C'mon man.

We're in like 1986 now? So next season will be 1987 or so? I suppose we'll get lots of Guns N' Roses music, with Moonstruck refences, as one of the kids walks barefoot across broken glass to save the day, like Bruce Willis in Die Hard.

Re-watch the first 10 minutes of the very first episode and its pretty clear the show was never meant to be a mini series. The creators talked early on that their story was going to be 5-6 seasons long as well.

I don’t know if the show breaks into my all time top 10 but I can’t think of another show that even comes close to putting out hype trailers like stranger things does every single season.

I re-watched it again and when One is cast into the upside down, it looks like a completely brand new world. He floats around in an endless sky and is shocked by lightning over and over again. There is no actual world that we see. So if it did exist, One had to have created the actual world within it (the mirror Hawkins). Otherwise, why has similar things not happened to anyone else who has been to the upside down world? People have said that the Mind Flayer is the big bad of the upside down but to me its clear One is the big bad and created the Mind Flayer. He was obsessed with spiders and the Mind Flayer resembles a spider. When Will gets taken in season one and Billy gets taken in season 3....you hear the same clock sound that accompanies Vecna in season 4.

I think they kind of address the fact that the upside down existed prior to Vecna, it was him being cast through the portal that stopped the parallel movement of time and inanimate objects. When the kids are in the upside down, reporter girl finds that her room is suspended on the day that Will disappeared, which lines up with when Eleven freaked out and opened the gate. Why would this guy who ‘s never met the kids before recreate something random girl’s diary?

well she opened the portal in 1979, she re-opened it again in 1983 when the demigorgon attacked. We assume Vecna had something to do with Will being taken since you hear the clock sound he’s known for right before he’s taken but still wonder why he stayed dormant for at least 4 years before doing anything. But re-opening the portal to throw the monster back in doesn’t really explain how the upside down became a basic replica of Hawkins to me so hopefully they flesh that out in the finale.

For whatever reason I missed the timeline of the initial portal opening, I thought that was like right before the start of season1, not four years earlier.

I think there’s a big bad coming for the final season, maybe they keep Vecna in that role, or he gets beaten back this season and we get the reveal of the final boss for season5 that answers everything

Two days left. Anyone have predictions?

I'm going to predict Will Byers will die.

The kid is clearly gay and it was heavily hinted at in episode 5 or 6 when he is speaking about the fear of coming out. Why is this important? I don't think the show will continue the last season with a love triangle. Imo, he has to die for Mike and El to have a relationship in season 5 again. It would be awkward as hell to continue this up until the least season, I think the writers will try to resolve this in episode 9. He's also with Mike in the story, meaning that he is in the perfect position to come out right as he is dying. Nobody is afraid to open up when they know that they are having their time is up.

Nancy or Steve may also die for this reason. I just think any possible love triangle gets resolved before the final season. Jonathan lives because no way both sons die

Great season though, way better than 2 and 3 and can't wait to see how they end the season.

Jonathan dies 100%. They don’t need to re-hash the love triangle and his story arc pretty much stalled after season 2. I predict he dies heroically getting Eleven out of the bunker.

Will is safe because he’s gay. The alphabet crew would be in uproar if they had a character come out only to immediately be killed off. Kind of like the old movies where the black characters always die first cliche. Will is still tied to the mind flayer and thus still has a purpose in the final chapter.

vecna kills mike which gives eleven the anger she needs to defeat him.

Steve and Dustin are untouchable.

Welp, I've lost this show. The break between seasons was too long, I'm too lazy to rewatch 3 and now I have no idea what's going on. I'm glad Jim Croce guy is still alive in Russia though.

I was way off! I thought they would kill off a few main characters. I was a bit disappointed that Vecna didn't have a higher kill count because of how intimidating he was most of the season. That's my only issue with episode 9. Other than that, it was still a very strong ending. I would give it a 9/10 overall. I can't believe I'm actually really excited for season 5. I almost bailed on this show after season 3 which was way too campy. Hope the tone remains the same for next season. I just hope that the creators kill off some main characters. At this point, they seem to only kill off new characters that were well-liked. Any character who lasts longer than a single season has been too safe imo.

Haven't watched the last episode yet but after the first four pretty great episodes, episodes five - eight felt like pure filler. You could have removed all of it and just had everyone go back to Hawkins after episode four. The Russia subplot is laughably bad.

Last two episodes fell flat for me in a big way. With 4 hours to play with, they should have been able to achieve a lot more.

It felt to me like they had a bunch of ideas and "moments", but couldn't find a way to either write them properly or tie it all together.

Yes they are playing it way to safe that’s my only issue. Otherwise this was a great season.

Enjoyed it but Eleven is getting a bit too OP if she can bring people back from death.

One of the main kids needs to die in the final season for anything to have any real emotional weight. Killing off bit characters like Billy and Eddie isn't cutting it.

I was hoping I was wrong with my prediction. But looks like I am going to be right.

Time travel always comes off as lame. I knew it was coming when skinny girl couldn't find her pistol in the upside down because they traveled back in time.

Pretty good season, they really saved the best for the final episode. Though I still think the season overall had some pacing issues and issues focusing on some of the characters.

At the end though I think it did a good job of setting up the next season.

Finale did not disappoint. Some awesome scenes and set pieces for the upside down.

Of all the main cast Jonathan has had almost nothing of importance this entire season, he did nothing of value, and was absolutely over shadowed by many of the newer characters.

Steve again kicking ass. Nancy giving off the Sigourney Weaver vibes in the finale as well.

Hopper and Joyce are still a solid team. Hopper definitely got some serious character development this season.

We better keep the Russians for a bit longer next season too.

Looking forward to season 5.

I want to go to that Army Suprlus store they went to...
