Television Stranger Things 4 (New Trailer)

Elevens boyfriend is probably the worst child actor I've ever had to watch. He's so terrible I've forgotten the characters name. And I wish they'd kill Will off, but I'm guessing Will and 11s boy are going to hook up.
The character is also an asshole to just about everyone not 11, which makes it worse.

Show is fantastic. Still genuinely a candidate for best show on TV, and that's with most of the power its nostalgia-driven style worn off. Goes to show you that it's not a gimmick. The people running the show are total pros.

Joseph Quinn was sensational as Eddie Munson. I looked him up, and of course he's British. Of course.

That’s him in the suit too, and he’s actually doing the voice of Vecna without any enhancers.. I’ll agree that he has been a bright spot in the show..

edit: I got my characters mixed up, I’m talking about Bower, who plays Vecna.. the dude playing Munson has been good too tho

I think it's pretty clear the show should have ended after 1 season, which I believe was actually their plan.

The mystery is almost all gone, which is what made season 1 fun. Now we just get new characters that add nothing, old characters that have become pointless, a new bad guy for them to defeat, while they beat us over the head with ham-fisted references to 80's pop culture.

Singing the Never Ending Story song definitely got a laugh at me, but I don't need multiple episodes of Evil Dead ripoffs (oh, I mean "homages") , with Evil Dead posters in the background in case you don't get it. C'mon man.

We're in like 1986 now? So next season will be 1987 or so? I suppose we'll get lots of Guns N' Roses music, with Moonstruck refences, as one of the kids walks barefoot across broken glass to save the day, like Bruce Willis in Die Hard.

I feel like they really took it overboard with the bullying stuff. Is an entire skating rink really gonna gang up on a seemingly retarded girl? Come on.

Damn that neverending story part was tough to get through, they really didn't need to sing it for as long as they did. A solid 10 seconds would've been fine

Even the skating rink dj's were in on it! lmao.

I hear you. That one worked with me but most make me cringe, probably most famously that odd New Coke commercial one of the kids gave. Such lazy writing. At least the NE Story song was incorporated in a more clever way.

Yea the bullying was dumb. Also the cops just standing there while the high school kid takes over their conference? Shit made no sense. Also he was the only kid around when his friend died and he’s the bf of that girl. He should have been arrested which is what I thought they were going to do.

Overall though I thought this season was great and better than 3 which was just ok. So far this has been as good as season 1 to me. I didn’t enjoy elevens training scenes at all I was tired of seeing that but the pay off at the end was worth it. Still should have shortened it a bit more though and got to the point faster.

They should really have gotten to the point earlier. 90% of this season we are looking at kids bullying, running around doing random stuff and side things and dull drama. Why cant we have most of the season about the actual theme of the show. Everything feel so stretched out this season and a filler with core story of the show peppered throughout and even that it takes a few eps to get it (slowly) going.

Yeah the bullying was way over the top lol. Like the entire class is just going to laugh and point when the mean girl makes fun of the seemingly special needs girl's dead father? And then everyone in school loses their shit and laughs when mean girl trips her and steps on her diorama? Then the entire ice rink staff including the dj's lmao are going to stop everything to humiliate her in front of her boyfriend, do an evil disney musical number around her and then throw her own slushie on her? LMAO this is the most hardcore fucking HS ever.

A few episodes in and I really like this season. I’m a big NOE fan so that’s most likely why.

I agree with the bullying being over the top. Maybe my school was tame but in the 90’s I never saw bullying to the degree that is often shown in media.

ugh devil worshipper your leader killed those children !!!!!!!!

Binged season 3 straight into season 4 and I've got some questions. They feel like continuity errors, or it's me not understanding how American schooling/workforce works, and/or details from season 3 i missed.

Age of the kids/in school or not:
In season 3, Nancy and Jonathon work at the newspaper. In season 4, Nancy is in school. How is she in school? She was working at the paper during business hours - that shouldn't be possible for a student, right?

Robin being in the school band.
Same as above, season 3 Robin appears to work full time, but is then in the school band in season 4. In season 3, she mentions being in the same classes as Steve Harrington. Do American schools have mixed grade classes? Or do people play in the school band without being Students?

Moving to California:
At the end of S3, 11 and the Byers move away from Hawkins. I thought this was because of all the fucked up shit they've been through, and because there was nothing left in Hawkins for them.
Then in S4, Burke from Aliens says that he "relocated" them, and talks about yhe events of previous seasons as if they had been in contact all along.

Am I missing something with this? Enjoying the show, but have had way too many moments of being confused by off hand comments by random characters.

Season 3 is during their summer vacation, so they have jobs for the summer

I might be in the minority but I enjoyed this season. I was not a fan of season 2 or 3.

The episode where the redhead kid had to escape the monster was really good. It worked as a standalone horror movie pretty much. Also the scenes at Dustin’s girlfriend’s house were great, it almost felt like they were teasing a spin-off with how inhabited that setting was.

The final three episodes dragged a bit, probably could have trimmed significant amounts of fat off the stories, but we got proper payoff in the end so it’s a pretty minimal complaint.

Generally, I would have liked the group to be split into fewer parts. It needed to combine two of those groups earlier on to keep all plots moving at the right pace. But, in the final episodes coming up the consolidation should provide narrative momentum.

there is some enjoyable quality but the same set up with the same characters eith a few new ones added is tiring. Itd be cool if they just did an anti climactic seasn 4 where they all just chillin like in that 70s show

i didnt like how good black agent man gets shot in the gut but survives for hours so that he can be captured and tortured into revealing the location. Lazy stuff

I don't think Eleven created the Upside Down. More likely it's always been there, and Eleven pushing her powers to the max to defeat One, caused the first Gate to appear.

I re-watched it again and when One is cast into the upside down, it looks like a completely brand new world. He floats around in an endless sky and is shocked by lightning over and over again. There is no actual world that we see. So if it did exist, One had to have created the actual world within it (the mirror Hawkins). Otherwise, why has similar things not happened to anyone else who has been to the upside down world? People have said that the Mind Flayer is the big bad of the upside down but to me its clear One is the big bad and created the Mind Flayer. He was obsessed with spiders and the Mind Flayer resembles a spider. When Will gets taken in season one and Billy gets taken in season 3....you hear the same clock sound that accompanies Vecna in season 4.
