* Stipe refusing to fight until contract is re-negotiated !

And if he pushes the company he will be employed elsewhere.
Do you honestly believe the UFC would cut the current HW champion over pay disputes?

That sounds pretty crazy. I would suggest stop believing everything Dana says. He's not as ruthless as he'd like you to believe.

IME will make an interim title. Strip Stiopic and then make the switcheroo. Lmao

Meowcic needs to understand.
This is not about being the best and this is definitely not about being a champion.
This is the UFC and is is all about being popular.

Isnt this the same for almost every sport tho? In team sports its a bit different than fighting, as usually the most skilled player(s) is the most popular and better paid, in fighting that doesnt always apply, seems to be the same for MMA or Boxing where they draw because of the character, not just win all the time, like DJ.

Stipe lost his momentum. He should of kept active calling out names. Maybe a Klitschko or another draw would have stepped up. Could of been marketed as winner is truly the baddest man on the planet.

No I think in retrospect people realize thaat had Overeem Had striked instead of going for a guillotine Stipe Head would of came off.
He screwed up and went all in on that stupid aas submission and got Ko, if it happens again I see a calm Overeem KTFO of stipe.
Overeem that aside from a brain fart on Werdum's part was just put on queer street by the relatively soft punching Werdum??

Don't know about that one, champ.

The UFC is a popularity contest, not a legit sports org. What does he expect?

Hard to increase one's popularity if one is losing upper echelon fighters right and left. At this rate they'll be down to just Bisping and Conor by 2020--if either is even interested in fighting by then. Oh wait, I forgot, they'll probably still have Jędrzejczyk too, she'll singlehandedly carry the company!
Its a team effort.
Seems to me that quality of competition or even championship heritage is not even important to then nowadays.
And IMO the company HAVE responsibility over how much a fighter get popular since they did everything possible to disturb how they can make themselves visible to the public by cutting sponsorship and brand usage.

If he is being offered fights and he refuses to take them yes I do.

Most associations usually can keep a balance between the Panem et circenses and authenticity.
Lately the UFC is just about the previous
and nothing about the later.

This makes zero sense.

Conor, Ronda, Silva, GSP etc. can renegotiate their contract but Stipe can't because you said so? Lol ok bud.
No retard because the UFC said so are you fucking retarded? You think I call the shots? LOL get a fuckin clue.

okay then, your HW champion on the brink of being your greatest HW of all time isnt going to fight

leverage
I don't make the rules dipshit, if the UFC doesn't want to renegotiate they don't have to, are you arguing this fact? Fuck these people get dumber by the moment.

Stipe is making good money. If you want to make 800k, be a star and draw some PPV.

It looks like Stipe is going to be another Aldo and DJ where they think just because they are champions, they should be the highest paid people on the roster. In a team sport where winning is all that matters, that might be the case. This is prize fighting and a PPV-based product. You make money based on how much you draw and how many buys you can bring on PPV. Stipe isn't drawing a dime outside of Cleveland.
He draws well enough to merit that payment. The bar has been set low for such a long time which is why people like you buy into this rubbish narrative that a fighter has to sell upwards of 500k for them to be compensated well. PPV isn't their only SIGNIFICANT revenue stream for long, long time.

Today UFC is like WWE, its not about the Sport, its about the fame the bitches and the money, depressing...

mods - please merge with the other thread of the same topic ! dammit.

"It definitely should change," Miocic said. "But the fact that [Overeem and JDS) made more money than me in my last fight was just kind of a slap in the face.

"[It's] terrible. Things definitely need to be changed. Something's gotta change. It's not really fair."

Miocic's typically quiet and workman-like demeanor hasn't done much for his brand as a marketer. He did, however, go public in June upon the announcement of the August pay-per-view boxing match between Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor by pleading for a spot on the undercard against unbeaten boxing champion Anthony Joshua of England.

Look, I like Stipe but he's not a draw for whatever reason. JDS and Overeem are bigger names and that's why they made more. I don't like the idea of a fighter holding out until he gets money he isn't deserving of due to popularity reasons. Don't get me wrong, I understand where's he coming from, but people were watching to see Overeem and JDS more than him.

On one hand, Stipe deserves to get paid.

On the other hand, I feel like his rep is growing and a win against Cain would skyrocket him in popularity. In many fans eyes, Cain still king.

you're dumb, and angry

chill,
breathe

The UFC is horrible at promoting fighters. Unless they can shit talk. The UFC is just useless.

Dude from Ohio, who happens to moonlight as a Paramedic/firefighter. And he's knocking out the biggest names in the sport, in the FIRST fuckin round. One win away from a UFC record.

If you can't sell that. You're not very good at your fuckin job.

True

if you are not a star, you don't get paid.
This ain't Hollywood. Are you being serious? He is the best heavyweight fighter on the planet. Beat three very game opponents to win the title and now having defended it twice. What more can he do? Knock out everyone he faces? Oh wait he already does that.

God damn people sometimes drive me crazy.

It is about being champion because he can hold the title hostage for more
