Sacrificing your knees to get inside Jones at that age is worse than getting knocked out IMO and i’m sure Stipe knows Jones doesn’t have a punching power so it’s a terrible choice to fight him.

It’s hard to generate KO power when you’re going for precision eye pokes.

If Stipe can come into the fight in the shape as when he beat Cormier and Ngannou, I think he beats Jones. The problem is he looked thinner and weaker in his 2nd fight against Ngannou (which was also his last fight). I wouldn't expect that to get better 3.5 years later.

Ever since the loss he's been concentrating on building up muscle mass. I assure you that whatever he may be, it won't be thinner and weaker than before.

Stipe has been 240-250 all but like 2 fights. He came in very light in the last DC fight and Ngannou fight but has been back up to his normal 240-250 for a while now.

Aspinall talking like a rookie

Jones has always been a very good clinch grappler and that is his most dominant trait in terms of his actual wrestling. If you watch his fights against aggressive grapplers/strikers who try to push inside jones clinch, they tend to go for a ride. Jon is similar to Austin who uses Judo trips from the clinch. You tend to want to stay outside of that as it gives jones opportunity to actually trip you up and use your momentum against you, which he has always been very good at.

It is Strikers like Reyes and Gus who have the ability to get in and out of jones pocket quickly and run that do well against jones, or at least this one with the limited speed. Aspinall is going to find out that experience is his worst enemy if he fights jones.
