"Some changes had to be made, however. They had me walking by 3PO, not even acknowledging him."

That's a window into the idiocy of RJ and how he didn't even understand the story elements of the original triliogy and the characters that told those stories.

In NO WAY would Luke have simply walked past C3PO without acknowledgment. That's the most ignorant thing I've read to date that confirms what we already knew;

The director didn't know Star Wars.

Terrible. Terrible that this is what was served up after resigning the original cast to come back and send us off.

:(

You guys can let me know how this 9 is. I really have no desire to give Disney my money for this IP. They need to know they messed up.

Mark Hamill Shares Some of His Disappointment on the New Star Wars Movies

fjazIjW.jpg

Some decisions still rankle, though. [Mark Hamill] remains shocked by Han Solo’s fate: slain by his own son and Luke’s nephew, the powerful Dark Side warrior Kylo Ren (formerly known as Ben Solo) in the sequel trilogy’s opening installment, The Force Awakens.

"I just thought, Luke’s never going to see his best friend again. You look at it in a self-centred way. I said that it was a big mistake that those three people would never reunite in any way. I guess I was wrong, because nobody seems to care! I have to stipulate that I care, but it didn’t really seem to affect the larger audience. Luke, Han and Leia will never be together again, and I’ll probably never get to work with Harrison again."

"Then the second thing was that they killed me off. I thought: oh, okay, you should push my death off to the last one. That’s what I was hoping when I came back: no cameos and a run-of-the-trilogy contract. Did I get any of those things? Because as far as I’m concerned, the end of VII is really the beginning of VIII. I got one movie! They totally hornswoggled (tricked) me."

He’s made his peace with any unfulfilled expectations. "Listen, I never expected to come back. We had a beginning, a middle, and an end. That’s what I said: why mess with it? It’s not something that worries me, because it’s all about the new generation, as it should be."

Some changes had to be made, however. "They had me walking by 3PO, not even acknowledging him. I said: 'I can’t do that!' He (The Last Jedi’s director, Rian Johnson) said, 'Okay, go over and do whatever.' So I went over, and I did whatever. They say it in the script: 'Forget the past, kill it if you have to”, and they’re doing a pretty good job!'"

I'm surprised Mark is being this forthcoming about some of the obvious mistakes in the ST. He's absolutely right about Disney fucking up reuniting the 3 OG characters, and with them killing off Luke in TLJ. The C3P0 thing is just another confirmation of how little Rian Johnson actually knows about Star Wars. Wish Mark the best, but I hope IX bombs as bad as Solo.

Worse.

Shitty movie series ruined by shitty, biased individuals must die. Kill them if you have to.

Make the property near worthless, and maybe they will sell it for peanuts to Edgar Wright or something.

The C3PO stuff perfectly highlights the reverence Rian Johnson has for the characters he created and the complete distaste for the ones that gave him the opportunity to even make his shitty movie.

I might be misremembering but didn't Rian cut a scene of Luke mourning Han when he finds out he died? Pretty sure I remember Mark mentioning this. Frankly hard to keep up with all the fucks up the TLJ made.

Three incredibly overrated movies. He was perfectly cast in ILD.

Star Wars, Apocalypse, Operation Finale, thats 4 movies he's been miscast in.
Some of his other movies like LIfe Itself and the Promise he was pretty lame in (lots of credit goes to the writing). He brings no edge.
But he's move overcast than miscast.

How is Ex machina overrated. It seems everyone enjoyed that film experience.

Apocalypse was bad all over tho. Nothing was saving that garbage

I thought it was pretty overrated, myself. Not bad, but not omg. Lots of movies these days are downright turrible but people are so conditioned that they have no standards.

Bohemian Rhapsody and A Star Is Born were both absolute garbage. Its kind of shocking that Oscar wasn't it at least one of those movies.

I dunno. I found it pretty heartwarming when Rose kissed Finn, when they released those space horses in the casino land, when Maz Kanata took time out of her busy say to Skype with Poe, when Leia and Holdo had the lezzbe friends farewell. Who needs a bunch of Luke and Han bullshit.

Lol stop it

BR was fun as hell tho. That’s what people really enjoyed about it. And the lead performance was outstanding.

I disagree on both parts. Very shallow movie that, imo, didn't do Freddie's story justice. Very superficial. And worst. lipsyncing. ever.

@Zer, you're a big queen fan, did you see BR? Thoughts?

No one said that was a bad perfromance. You didn’t have To love the movie but the lead performance was very good

^^^^^he is spot on. There is no point in having the sequels.

From this article.

Mark Hamill: "I’ll be reading something, and say, “What moron said this?”, and then realize, “Oh, it’s me. They can take selective comments you’ve made out of context and use it to support their argument
What additional context is required to understand these particular statements from Mark?

I don't mind JJ as a director but he needs to be light years away from writing the script or it's going to suck

Mark has said many positive things about TLJ & TFA's as well. You probably overlooked them though because you just feed on the venom.

Don't get me wrong... I've chatted with you & see that you have some common sense in there somewhere, but you are a slave to the venom when it comes to the new SW's, & you can't quit it. You & your buddies snowball it to a frenzy to where you make up all kind of exaggerated points of view.

All your doing here is questioning me for calling it like it is.

You not recognizing the positive things Mark has said about the new SW's is a testament to how far you've let yourself go into the dark side.
