There is some crazy fan theory that the emperor built the empire and the Death Stars in preperation for an attack from them.
Snoke being from the outer rim could have been doing the same thing. This would have at least been new and more interesting in a sense
Lol, so yes, people are getting fooled by the fan made trailer.
This would have been 10x better than the current story. Honestly anything would be better.
Keep most of the Kylo and Rey parts but Luke realizes tampering into the dark side is the only way to defeat the new enemy that Sidious was preparing for this whole time, and knew he needed Luke to defeat them.
Hopping further down the rabbit hole, there is speculation it’s not fake but they are trying to keep it under wraps to not steal thunder from the solo movie about to come out.
I mean, we are supposed to beleive fans convinced McGregor to film those??
they're just adding in clips of him from other movies to make it look like a real trailer. the clips of him looking like he's wearing jedi stuff walking through the desert is from the movie Last Days in the Desert:Hopping further down the rabbit hole, there is speculation it’s not fake but they are trying to keep it under wraps to not steal thunder from the solo movie about to come out.

That makes more sense, I had no idea of another movie with McGregor running through a desert wearing Jedi looking clothesthey're just adding in clips of him from other movies to make it look like a real trailer. the clips of him looking like he's wearing jedi stuff walking through the desert is from the movie Last Days in the Desert:

it's definitely fanmade.
No, fans didn’t convince Ewan to film those scenes, the director of the movie those scenes are from did. Aside from that, does that seriously look like an official movie trailer to you?
The new trilogy began with a glorified remake and asked questions that didn't really deserve answers; like Snoke's back story, who gives a shit? Prior to the prequel trilogy, the Emperor was just an evil dude in black robes and most people were just fine with that when it first came out.
Shitting on the first new movie was shitting on the predictable way that the new trilogy was unfolding; a welcome change, IMHO.
Preach on brother. Rian ruined my chidlhood and I dont advocate violence, but if there was a fantasy land wherre I could be free of legal prosecution, I would axe kick(my specialty from my taekwondo days) Johsnon in his fat, overinflated dome if I saw him. The only last 3 hopes I have for this franchise, is 1) I hope Solo is good. 2) I hope Abrams can somehow....SOMEHOW salvage this bullshit in ep nine. 3) I hope Johnson doesnt direct the next trilogy......3.5) and gets in fiery car crash courtesy of the Iilluminati......actually 4) I hope Kathleen Kennedy disappears and gets fired from Disney and finally does her final transition surgery to become a full on man....those are my wishes.Yeah..and this doesnt negate what I said in my original point.
Whether you liked or hated TFA, it was still the first movie of a trilogy. There was a story set up there. And TLJ just completely ignored that story as if it wasn't part of that trilogy.
You can call TFA a glorified remake (i don't really disagree) but it's still part 1 of 3. You can't just go make 2 as if 1 didn't happen.
The reason why I give shit about what happened in TFA is because they put it in the movie--they left some questions to be answered, and Rian either didn't answer them, or gave god awful answers to them in his movie just so that he can go on to do what he wanted to do.
TFA left A LOT of shit open for Rian to take so many paths. Luke's quest was wide open, Rey's past and future were wide open, Kylo was still alive, Finn--a former storm trooper could have been a very interesting character, we barely saw anything of Poe---there was a TON of shit that Rian could have done that would have been original, and made sense for the story and the characters.
Snoke's back story doesn't deserve answers? The current most powerful dark force user, leader of the First Order, the guy who made Kylo Ren--son of Leia and Han, turn against his uncle Luke and the light side....that guy isn't important? Did we need to spend an entire movie on him? No. But if Rian was just going to kill him off like that, Abrahams would have been better off never even introducing the character.
lol I got a very clear mental picture of Johnson eating an axe kick and then doing the Shad face. Thanks for that.Preach on brother. Exactly there are hundreds of ways to do new and different without just taking a god damn dump on the originals for the Sake of being different
I didn't like Force Awakens and thought TLJ totally shat on Luke's character and the mythology of Star Wars. Rogue One was the only decent thing that Disney put out after buying SW.
But, man this scene makes it all worth it. Absolutely brilliant acting. When Rey sees that Ren chose her and they look at each other before fighting the guards, what an amazing scene.
Also, when the Star Wars theme starts blaring when she catches the lightsaber, gave me chills.
Nope, it wasn't interesting and from my observation anyone who was disappointed by those red herrings had probably wasted the better part of the last two years invested in batshit crazy fan theories. "Is Snoke actually an evil Mace Windu or Darth Plagueis?", "Is Rey Luke's daughter or Obi Wan's bastard?" You know, the guys who turn a 1 minute long teaser trailer into a 20 minute analysis. No wonder people were disappointed, they wasted so much time hoping that they were right instead just waiting for and watching the movie when it came out.Yeah..and this doesnt negate what I said in my original point.
