I think the 2nd prequel shows their closeness rather well, plenty of references to other dangerous situations they make light of. Also 9 years had passed.
References, references, references to things we never get to see.
Wooden dialogue that tells us instead of scenes that show us.
What Is shown rather than told usually works out as Obi-Wan being annoyed at Anakin’s immaturity and Anakin being annoyed at Obi-Wan.
Skipping over 9 years of events to force a love story that could have been MUCH more brief and to the point does not a good story make.

See, I did a thing there, a Yoda thing

I guess some of us are ok with things being inferred rather that spelled out.

I think a lot of people don't understand the role of inference in films. They want all of the information presented directly, rather than understanding that in a movie what is actually presented on screen is only part of the story.

I stumbled on this little bit on info seems we were on the mark when we said they had some kind of tech in them.

Side note to those bombs. The messages on them translate from aurebesh to say “Han says Hi” and “Hi Snoke” Not kidding

I enjoyed Revenge of the Sith a lot but the people saying it’s brilliant are really living in their own reality.

Sure you can love this movie all you want and watch it 1million Times But at no point was it brilliant

Masterpiece

Not even close. With so much garbage dialogue this movie doesn’t come close to masterpiece

Plus the entire buzz saw droids at the start is so laughable and awful it isn’t even Funny

Masterpiece may be pushing it, but to go back to the word you questioned--brilliant--it is definitely that.

No movie with such horrible dialogue can be brilliant.

By having this opinion you’re actually shitting on other movies that are masterpieces and art.

You can like this movie all you want, Hell, I like it a lot also but I’m not delusional enough to think it’s a masterpiece or brilliant.

That’s all nonsense

Did Palpy allow Grievous to kidnap him or was it their plan together?

If they conspired to the kidnapping, was Doku being killed part of the plan?

I agree that's a low bar for the word brilliant.
It wasn't good, but it was only mildly awful.
I liked the casting. I liked the sound effects and some of the cinematography.

There are many kinds of brilliance. Questionable dialogue does not in and of itself disqualify a movie from brilliance.

Not only is it a thematically excellent and very thoughtful film, but it's also visually incredible.

Palpatine allowed himself to be kidnapped, yes. Grievous had no idea who he was.

Dooku thought he would be taken in prisoner by Anakin. Palps was having none of it.
