Prequels >> Disney trilogy IMO.
There should be a prequel about Luke and his failed Jedi Padawans.
TFA being a remake ... it's almost a microcosm of Hollywood in general.
No new ideas, no creativity ... just rehashed storylines, rehashed visuals. At least George Lucas made the prequels original.
Yes, three movies to tell us something we already knew. Originality overloadTFA being a remake ... it's almost a microcosm of Hollywood in general.

Practical and in - camera effects over CGI glitz any fucking daypuppet Yoda looked like crap in this movie, too

The original was only acceptable when they revealed him as Yoda, Jedi Master (and his demeanor changed)not neccessarily.
Puppet Yoda looked like something from a B movie.

Before that moment I wanted him out of the film quickly.
But his role was to show that the Force doesn't need size to be powerful.
Which is why making him a CGI saber fighter who had to bounce everywhere because he was too short to reach his target stupid beyond belief.
This is an opinion I had before RLM said it : the prequels are terrible movies. That's just RLM cool-aid. I've see the RLM videos many times.
Yoda and the Jedi in the prequels was to show the Jedi at the height of their power. Yes, the battle droids were mostly useless, but it's just to show how strong the Jedi were, it's story telling.
Yoda kicking ass .... I'm ok with it

They articulated why very well.
You're just drinking the "everybody else on the internet who gets a paycheck to say good things about the prequels in an effort to revalue the franchise after Disney paid big bucks for it."-ade.
You're gonna get tired of X wings, TIE fighters, light sabers, everybody being related somehow, and destiny.
I already am. At least TLJ wasn't cookie cutter. Not one light saber fight! And I was ok with THAT.
Rehashing old stuff, which trilogy are we talking about again? That's why the prequels were good. We had new worlds, new planets, new aliens, new soldiers. We got to see what the Star Wars universe looked like before the OT.
Episode 7, 30+ years have passed and the storm troopers are still wearing the same f**king armour ... and yet you still think the Disney trilogy is better, eventhough they are blatantly rehashing old stuff.

- Bring back Luke. I have no fucking earthly clue why the Skywalker bloodline ending is actually being adored by some. If it isnt broken, dont fix it. Skywalker is synonymous with jedi as far as im concerned. That said, his fading away...ill make it as a teleporting. Jedis have powers so why not. He was stuck on the island and needed to get out anyway, so he teleported somewhere. The clothes dropping, well, we can blame it on Johnson surprising the audience again.
- Have Poe transition into what they were attempting anyway: start molding him into the new han solo. Hes great on.screen, sure, but hes gotta find a way to emphasize with the audience. Id find a way to connect him to us and being the commander of the resistance may or may not be a distraction of this. Finn may help with this here.
I don't know. He intentionally directed his cast to act badly? "No Hayden, less natural." I suppose anything is possible.
