TFA being a remake ... it's almost a microcosm of Hollywood in general.

No new ideas, no creativity ... just rehashed storylines, rehashed visuals. At least George Lucas made the prequels original.

One of the things I believe Rian Johnson was doing with this movie was actually making a public statement against reboots. This would be commendable in principle, but I think he did it at the wrong time and in the wrong way.

Yes, three movies to tell us something we already knew. Originality overload

not neccessarily.

Puppet Yoda looked like something from a B movie.
The original was only acceptable when they revealed him as Yoda, Jedi Master (and his demeanor changed)
Before that moment I wanted him out of the film quickly.

But his role was to show that the Force doesn't need size to be powerful.
Which is why making him a CGI saber fighter who had to bounce everywhere because he was too short to reach his target stupid beyond belief.

That's just RLM cool-aid. I've see the RLM videos many times.

Yoda and the Jedi in the prequels was to show the Jedi at the height of their power. Yes, the battle droids were mostly useless, but it's just to show how strong the Jedi were, it's story telling.

Yoda kicking ass .... I'm ok with it

This is an opinion I had before RLM said it : the prequels are terrible movies.
They articulated why very well.

You're just drinking the "everybody else on the internet who gets a paycheck to say good things about the prequels in an effort to revalue the franchise after Disney paid big bucks for it."-ade.

You're gonna get tired of X wings, TIE fighters, light sabers, everybody being related somehow, and destiny.

I already am. At least TLJ wasn't cookie cutter. Not one light saber fight! And I was ok with THAT.

That's why the prequels were good. We had new worlds, new planets, new aliens, new soldiers. We got to see what the Star Wars universe looked like before the OT.

Episode 7, 30+ years have passed and the storm troopers are still wearing the same f**king armour ... and yet you still think the Disney trilogy is better, eventhough they are blatantly rehashing old stuff.

Rehashing old stuff, which trilogy are we talking about again?
The one the franchise is narratively recovering from, since I hope to God we're done with the story of Darth Vader, or the trilogy yet to be completed that has a coherent story with actions and dialogue you understand with clear motivations driving them, or at the very least maintain your interest?

After last nights disappointing fight card, i started thinking of this year being filled with disappointments and star wars is one of the top shit cherries of the year. So...a 3rd movie is coming regardless and i thought, what would i do to fix this?

  • Bring back Luke. I have no fucking earthly clue why the Skywalker bloodline ending is actually being adored by some. If it isnt broken, dont fix it. Skywalker is synonymous with jedi as far as im concerned. That said, his fading away...ill make it as a teleporting. Jedis have powers so why not. He was stuck on the island and needed to get out anyway, so he teleported somewhere. The clothes dropping, well, we can blame it on Johnson surprising the audience again. When he appears before rey again, he explains why he left the map, why he was grumpy, and this time he definitely trains her.
  • Bring Snoke back. We have NO villain. Crylo is not him. No. I would have him believe snoke is gone, but in reality, Snoke has gotten killed numerous times before, which explains his appearance. He was all fucked up, yes, but perhaps the robe was hiding other battle scars or robotic torso. He comes back, wreaks havoc, now crylo and rey have to really team up. Id have them lose, bring luke in, and have the epic fight. Luke dying here is optional.
  • Leia. Well, shit. This is a shit one. I would NOT be surprised that they did intend on Leia dying but because Johnson thinks we like surprises, he made it so the audience would think shes dead cuz of Fishers real death. Id have to see how they filmed the other scenes when Leia woke up, but whether it was intentional or noy, i have no choice but to either kill her off screen or say she went into hiding.
  • Make Rose and Finn into Jar Jar Binks. Not directly, just give them tinier roles like jar jar did in ep 2 & 3. If not, id find something for finn to fucking do and not something pointless.
  • Ill ignore everything on the casino planet and i mean, everything. Fuck the kids, fuck del toro, fuck the animals. We can safely move on from that shit without any blemishes. This isnt xmen, you want the kids in something, disney can make a kids show.
  • Have Poe transition into what they were attempting anyway: start molding him into the new han solo. Hes great on.screen, sure, but hes gotta find a way to emphasize with the audience. Id find a way to connect him to us and being the commander of the resistance may or may not be a distraction of this. Finn may help with this here.
  • Bring in a wild card. At this point, we are starving for jedi/sith, light sabers, the force, so this hunger has to be addressed. Up until now, weve had good guys and bad guys. How about a tweener? A jedi who doesnt always do the right thing. A mercenary maybe, a jedi in seclusion no one knows about, a jedi who may had been becoming a sith and was locked up. Someone thats neither good or bad. Crylo is not it and if he is, its a failure. I mentioned xmen before right? Well, lets make up a jedi wolverine character minus the claws.

Which is one reason I’m thankful for comic book movies. Without them we go back to Hollywood remaking everything it can think of.

The field is generated by a living organism. Nothing dead will go.

Honestly wouldn't surprise me at this point.

I don't know. He intentionally directed his cast to act badly? "No Hayden, less natural." I suppose anything is possible.

"George, you can type this shit, but you can't say it!"
