Watching the trailer again, you see the very moment that Ren moves to engage Finn in a lightsaber duel, the look on Finn's face is one of "shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit shit....".

I'm now certain that he won't come away from that fight in one piece.

Ren might be toying with him, we don't know the context of the situation yet. Vader ended up toying with Luke too, Luke was clearly outmatched, but Darth never meant to kill him.

Is it just me or does Finn look like Tracey Morgan?

I won't be happy if that new Death Star blows up in the final battle... c'mon guys please have an original ending.

RE: Originality

he may not have written it, but Abrams didn't object to literally taking the most important part of Star Trek Wrath of Khan and pasting it with a role reversal into 'Star Trek: Into Darkness' so I mean...it's really possible that the entire ending is a carbon copy of 'ANH'.

example (IMO based on trailer): all storylines converge on X ice planet where the rebel alliance stages an airborne attack of the new order's planet death cannon, while ground troups defend the rebel alliance base on X forest planet from invading new order troops. Culminating in the destruction of ice planet death cannon/retreat of new order forces.

At this point though I'm sort of indifferent to this outcome, because I feel like A LOT of the best elements of the original series are going to be recycled in a subtle way (despite the pretty obvoius, original series character dying) to form a coherent story with REAL protagonists and antagonists fighting a battle with actual stakes.

Something the prequels SERIOUSLY lacked and never got right. There was no likable protagonist, the storyline was boring, the action wasn't exciting or engaging, the stakes were never high...like ever.

My theory...

Oscar Issac and Rey are related, and are kids to either Luke or Han. My deep theory is that Finn dies or gets beat up and it somehow awakens Oscar Isaac's "force", and he ultimately is the true "one".

Notice in the trailer, when Han says "the Jedi are real", that they not only show Fin, but also Oscar Issac. Also, Oscar Isaac fits Lukes profile as a master pilot of the rebel fleet. I think Fin is important to the plot, but that Oscar Isaac is gonna be a Jedi as well in the long run and is related to the main heroes

There's also a moment in the trailer when the female voiceover says the force awakens, then Oscar Issac is shown. Maybe that Kylo Ren torture scene will hint at his force potential?

True about episode 1-3, just garbage, people talking politics and action scenes with zero danger for the charcters. Those films dont even count... I expect recycling too but I just really dont want the good guys winning at the end of this film. It feels dark and id like it to stay dark for now. Rogue 1 seems like it'll have a victory arc to the story if you know what that film is supposed to be about....

My only problem with the black dude is that it feels like they made the main protagonist black just to be politicly correct.

I mean it's established the storm stroopers are all clones, and we have seen what the guy they cloned from looks like. Also now there is a theory he is related to Han

Yet he looks like a straight up black dude. I mean so far, if those theories I said are right, then they are going to have to do allot of unnecessary explaining as to why they got a black storm trooper related to a white Han Solo.

Also it doesn't help that in every single trailer/teaser they have him making that stupid ass FAUX face. I mean that's the Jedi I am suppose to be rooting for in this movie?!

But fuck it, I'm fucking pumped and I can't fucking wait. I will venture into the movie with an open heart.....can't fucking wait.

In the sequels not all of the stormtroopers are clones. Thats why they are called storm troopers instead of clone troopers

Also as per wookiepedia, its an article marked as canon

http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Cloning
12 years before battle of yavin (A new hope)
Emperor Palpatine lost confidence in an army cloned entirely from one man. As a result, future generations of stormtroopers were cloned from a variety of templates. Not long afterward, the ranks were opened up to non-clone Humans who served as enlisted troopers alongside the clones

I haven't kept up with the news for this, and just now realized the black guy was the main. Wow, that sucks. Like someone else said, he is one goofy looking SOB. And he looks like a bitch all the time in that trailer.

I still want to see it though. The sound was spot on. I felt it in my plums.

I'm hoping this is just the first encounter, and maybe gives him some room for growth. He always looks scared in the trailers, or just kind of looking dazed.

And maybe all what the negatives I think I see, turn out wrong. I am praying that they are. I will probably enjoy it no matter what though.

A long, long time ago. In a white washed galaxy far, far away...some of you bad larrys are redunkulous. Maybe the dude is black because he was best fit for the role?
