Luke is Ren. When he says to Vader's mask, "I will finish what you started", he's referring to Vader killing the Emperor and bringing down the Empire. Now Luke, posing as Ren, will destroy the New Order and finally put an end to those who believe in the Empire.

I appreciate it, but as of last year, it isn't. Only the six movies and the animated series plus movie is canon. The rest is Star Wars Legends, or some such, which will be used or discarded as they please.

Wither way, it doesn't change much for this discussion. Assuming that the Stormtroopers of the New Order are clones of Fett isn't just one or two very bold assumptions, but also just clearly wrong, since the only actual information we have on these is that Finn is one.

I seriously doubt Ren is Luke. Do you know how many people would be upset at that? Luke is a hero and would ruin the original trilogy.

Kylo Ren is played by Adam Driver. I think it's simply going to be a case of him being a Vader fanboy in the movie and wanting to re-create what Vader did. You even see him fight maskless at the end of the trailer.

Luke appears in the trailer when he puts his robotic hand on R2-D2. He's going to save the day, awaken the Force and teaching Finn the ways of the force. He's basically going to be playing the Obi Wan role but I'm sure he'll get at least one big fight seen that will make people flip out.

So far he seems to have the most interesting story set up, storm trooper turned rogue and all.

Or am i misinterpreting it? I guess he might have just been wearing the stormtrooper getup as a disguise á la A New Hope.

I don't think that Finn will be a Jedi. I reckon it's just a curve ball.

He'll get his shit broken off by Ren when they fight. Probably lose a hand, and the real Jedi protagonist, Rey, will take up the lightsaber and do enough to keep Ren at bay before they all escape.

Rey will then learn the ways of the force and all that. However, there's still a chance that Finn could be force sensitive as well, so he could still fulfill the role of a secondary Jedi protagonist.

For obvious reasons, Finn will require a purple lightsaber.
