As an EU OG I don't even care if Mara comes in to New Canon tied to a story with Thrawn or not, both are great characters that can stand on their own, as long as they stay somewhat true to their origins...best handled by some Tim Zahn....

Mara's past is where the gold is mined... we're obviously at a point in canon where her future can't be played out... but I'll take it. For sure though... for the love of god... keep her past as the pole dancing assassin for Sid!!!

The Stone Luke is found standing beside when Rey first meets him is where Mara Jade layz to me... whether it turns out in canon reality or symbolically representing that her story will never be told... that is her grave in my head.

Yeah, this isn't really an argument. The last movie by all accounts should have been THE movie event of the last 50 years. It should have sold out for weeks but instead no one cared. How can anyone screw that up except to have absolutely no plan. There was literally no unifying story across the last three films. What Rian tried wasn't awful in and of itself.... but you don't try to rewrite everything on part 8 of a 9 part story.

In fact I'm kind of offended they keep calling it the "skywalker saga" with an end like that. So the skywalker saga ends with every skywalker dead and their name being assumed by the daughter of the evil emperor? And the backstory to Kylo Ren is that Luke... the ONE GUY who would understand that there can still be good in someone (ahem... darth vader himself) wants to kill him as a teenager because he's too evil? Not sure how much out of character you can make someone.

All I take away is that the skywalkers must have some pretty bad heart disease in their family history. Both Luke and Leia end up keeling over because they meditated too hard? Kylo dies really for no reason. Sounds like heart failure to me. That, or weak writing.

For sure I'm stoked for some more Luke back story. Aside from a small handful of stories, we don't know much. He was traveling around collecting artifacts & looking for ancient jedi temples. He trained Leia for a little bit, & he started the Jedi school. That's pretty much all we know. Oh yeah, & he adopted Grogu.

That time period is getting blown wide teh fook open with all these series they say are going to climax into one grand event... & it couldn't come too soon, but it looks like that climax is years away, so now we wait.

I was actually anticipating Rock Star Luke just like you were. You're too mentally incapable of seeing past your pretense though & obviously not smart enough to follow the story as it was presented so it's understandable you don't like it.
