“What I really connect with is the ideas that he put in it. That idea of a better future. The idea of IDIC; Infinite Diversity in Infinite Combinations,” Roddenberry said. “The appreciation of all things that are different and not really fearing diversity on our planet — embracing it.”

He says there’s a great team of people behind the new series.

“Bryan Fuller is sort of leading the charge on what the show is. He’s got a number of credits under his belt, not just with ‘Star Trek,’ but a number of other series. He’s a huge ‘Star Trek’ fan,” Roddenberry said.

“He’s not just a Hollywood writer; he is a devoted fan of the show who gets the philosophy and is a fan of my father’s philosophy, and wants to make sure that is carried on. Without that, it isn’t ‘Star Trek’ and he knows it,” he added.

Just finished VOY, show just kinda ends with a "Hey, we're back!" after one last bumfuggeling of the Borg.

Couldn't resists picking this up. Actually a really nice sweatshirt, and great quality.

My lady bought me one of those for my birthday, good stuff.

Some more behind the scenes info... Apparently Toronto film crews are all being delayed due to a shortage of skilled tradesman. Things like electricians, plumbers and skilled carpenters have waitlists that are weeks long. There are so many productions going on, and not enough crew to work them. This isn't the only reason Discovery has been delayed, but it was a big factor. They started pre production and some basic set building, and couldn't get nearly enough carpenters let alone skilled set builders.

Massive Trek Against Trump statement signed by an infinite amount of Trek people:

Here is the latest court documents from the Axanar lawsuit. Its an interesting look into the legal system. This is the 50 page briefing of them arguing about Discovery, and what CBS should have to disclose. Basically Axanar is trying to force CBS to prove its ownership of Star Trek and prove the revenue it earns from it, that justifies it seeking of damages. It also goes into why they are going after axanar but not other fan films. Basically CBS just claims its to big of a company to respond and its a waste of time, but demands axanar respond to each of its claims. Fascinating read.

Nice little video that speculates (as have others) that Garth of Izar will be the Discovery's captain and this is why CBS is cracking down on Axanar (and, by the way, also why those on the movie side like Abrams and Lin have supported Axanar while to my knowledge Fuller never commented).

Content on Discovery starts around 6:25.

Watched Darmok today, as the 25th anniversary just passed.

I would love for the character of Garth to be explored more, but I don't think CBS wants anything to be related to Axanar, even if they had the idea years ago. It would just look to bad with the lawsuit. BBC is playing the TOS Remasters this week and Whom gods destroy was on last night. Great episode, and I love the GOAT of Orion Slave girls featured in the episode.

I'm going to start a new rumor, number one is actually one of Harry Mudds "Ladies"

Majel Barrett may become the Discovery's computer voice from the grave!
