Of course not. There are obviously other movies out there where they cast women in leading roles, and those movies did well. You would have to be incredibly stupid to believe that they would purposefully lose money on movies to further some ideology. If they make more movies where they replace traditionally male characters with female characters, and they all bomb, they will stop doing that.

But Ghostbusters was shit. And it wasn't simply because they cast women. It just sucked dicks. I think they all know that, and that's why they are trying the same formula again, but with different characters and scripts. Because they think it will make money.

I don't feel threatened by Hollywood casting females in more lead roles, I just hate seeing my favorite franchises destroyed by forcing females into rolls that might have been better suited for a male. I would have loved to see a good Ghostbusters film since I am a fan of the original. It was a waste to miscast the lead characters, but again Hollywood can afford to take the hit.

Page was the creature designer for ST:ITD and beyond. Hetrick is a popular designer and known for creating some pretty cutting edge make up and practical effects. They are big names in the industry, but do favor some crazy designs.

There have been ruthless, powerful female crime lords in popular fiction for quite some time. Some of the best criminals on television recently have been women.

Doubt it would work with Scarface, though, and hard to imagine them even trying.

thr captain is the centerpieces of the story and I see those pieces as being in the middle of any conflict, like Kirk should be placed in situations where they have to fight one on one.

Having the second as that role as they did in next gen can work but that's because the stories next gen told were not usually about wars or battles. And he still was the centerpiece in most stories.

Star Trek has no "force" equalizer that would ever make me feel that I'd want to see some 110 pound female captain square up against some large alien gorn type creature.

They spent 144 million making the new Ghostbusters, you think the people investing that money cared at ALL about anything else? I don't. And, although it bombed, I thought it was really funny and entertaining. A lot of people decided this was going to be terrible before they even saw it. It was pretty good.

I've tried to explain it to you twice now but you keep stomping your feet parading around how much you liked two star trek shows that were generally poorly received compared to their predecessors.

Understanding why it's brilliant that the borg assimilated picard and not riker is an impossible task because you simply don't "get" it.
