Saw it tonight. Dope movie just like the first one

Movie is just great. The intro was a nice change up and I’m glad Gwen got more screen time

Miles Morales could be the best Spider-Man to date. They really are doing a great job with his character development

Ik some folks are going to have an issue with the “diversity” of the Spider cast but it make’s perfect sense and the characters are pretty solid especially Spider Punk

9.5/10

Just make a good movie and no one will care about diversity, at least not anyone who matters. The issue only arises when that's what a movie relies on it to sell itself.

watched it with the family like it maybe rate it an 8 the first is still better. only thing i didnt like with this one is it just ended with no resolution. I dont like movies like that because i dont like waiting for a long time to find out what happens

It pulled off being an " Empire Strikes Back " ish sequel. Difference is Beyond The Spider-Verse should end up being a Better Finale than ROTJ was for its trilogy

Yep

Gotta put it up there with Empire, The Two Towers, X Men United, Spider Man 2 and The Dark Knight as far as great second films in a potential trilogy go.

Hope Beyond the Spiderverse goes out on a Return of the King type of finish.

Ramblings

- I had a huge grin on my face when I heard Rachel Dratch's voice as the college counselor. Such an underutilized actress.

- during that scene, I liked how Miles pushed against the advice of writing a college essay about having a traumatic life. That's some subtle biting commentary about the college admissions industrial complex.

- loved the scenes that took place is alternate universe India. It seemed like it was written by someone from India, rather than someone who thinks India is nothing more than Bollywood troupes and spicy food.

- I liked how there were two protagonists in this movie (Miles and Gwen) and neither of their stories crowded out the other one's. I was just as interested in both and want their dads to meet in the sequel.

- Peter B. Parker was cute with his daughter, but I didn't need to see her in every scene he was in. I am sure MJ is a competent parent and can care for the kid while Peter is at work. With that said, keep the baby bjorn when fighting in the other universes.

- Does Ben Reilly have a crisis of conscience in the next film?

The absolute worst ending of all damn time. I can’t believe I sat through a 2 hour+ movie just for them to give me that ending. 2/10
Knew movie would suck. Quick cash grab sequel. The first one i didnt finish it was so awful.

10/10 for me. I loved this movie from beginning to end. I have minor, minor issues with it, but the good surpassed the bad by a country mile. Loved that it ended on a cliffhanger. If I were them, I'd move the release date up to Christmas time of this year. It would KILL the box office.

Everyone says Empire Strikes Back vibes, but I got Back to the Future II vibes. Anyone else feel this way?

If Beyond the Spiderverse sticks the landing in this trilogy, we're not talking about it being just the best comic book trilogy ever, it's going to be in the running as one of the best trilogies of all time.

I was curious why it took 5 years for Sony to make a sequel. Now we know why.

They weren't making one movie.
They were making two.
I believe the decision to split the second movie into two parts only delayed Across the Spider-Verse for 8 months. It was set to open on October 2022 and then moved to June 2023.

I think the real reason for the long delay for the sequel is simple - they just started production late. They were still working on the script on February 2021 and they finalized the directors on April 2021.
