The genetic components to athletic activity surprised me a lot.

I can emulate some of the moves of my genetic transmitter. So it's not just that the genes gave me greater potential, no I can literally copy the moves. Without even studying them. I generate them in the same fashion due to my gene code.

I'll add: Some of the moves

This.

BTW, relatively high Investments are required from teenage years.
For ammies too, not rarerly best teen ammies in local clubs are these, that have Access to a bit special attention and aren't forced to pay full expenses. Yes, of course they work hard too.

Few examples how it might be IRL.
Dad is former competitive athlete in full contact combat sports, now he is sensei that in fact is also manager for this club.
He of course " charge " his sons for training in this club…. irony. Of course, they get a lot of proper drills and sparrings.

creating fighters is hard work and a 1 on 1 process

Combat sports, it depends, too, to get good place in international events looks far more promising for future.
Concurrence level too is different.
In some small safespace country with low interest in some sport, for example in wrestling, maybe will have 4 or 8 guys in each weight class that are good.
In some other, also small, you might get in their local level tournaments 4 - 6 pairs with kids, that are f.e 20 y.o and with 10 - 11 years of training. Not mention higher, National championship in this small country.

Definitely boxing championship for ammies in some Ireland, U.K, Ukraine, Belarus, Russia is far more tough than in small countries.
Especially if we know what level of popularity for boxing is in U.K for example. There 3 rd place in ammies isn't joke.
Still there are examples when combat athletes from small countries were/ are in world top, confirmed by history.

since we talking small country competition level, i have some recent news

my country just took 2 golds at world thaiboxing championships in women and one silver ,the both gold medalists are from a town of 100k

in wako kickboxing world championships we took 1 bronze and nearly got a second medal in men (was 50 50 if we get the decision very close fight)

guy from my gym went to russia and is 2x thaiboxing champ of saint petersburg

we are a country of 5 mil people, kick/thaiboxing is on the rise hard right now here

Baltics are big in kickboxing

In lithuania kickboxing is second biggest sport after basketball.

Estonia took 2 bronzes in wako world championship this year in men, they have a very good kickboxing program there and it only got popular in the last 5-7 years

Estonia and Finland in beginning of 90 ies had relatively realistic karatekas too.
At least 10+ years ago they were damn good for h2h....

Spacetime reminds me of this kid i went to school with who said he trains mma (this was in 2013). And said his gym wasnt exactly "legal" and he said he dont remember his record too lol. And he was a big shit talker. But everytime you told him to meet up he wouldnt. He would make up excuses everytime lol.
