Crime Someone tried to assassinate Donald Trump at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania

A recent poll indicates she has strong support from voters

I voted for Bernie twice, 2016 and 2020, and then Biden in 2020 and I'm perfectly okay with this.

They didn't want her in 2020 and neither did I but we're talking about a different race with different circumstances.

Its telling that the majority of folks making this absurd argument are on the right whereas I, an actual Biden voter, is the one who is okay with it. You were never going to vote Democrat either way so why does it matter to you?

Uh sure, I didn't like Kamala and I still voted for Biden. But I did so knowing she would succeed him if necessary and we've gotten to that point, at least in the presidential race.

Biden wasn't nominated yet though, the convention has yet to happen. Going into it now Kamala has all the momentum which reduces chaos and confusion and that is good for the party and its chances to beat Trump.

I never said otherwise but when I voted for Biden-Harris I accepted that she might succeed him and now that we need someone to succeed n the presidential race I think his VP is the obvious choice. What is weird about that? Obviously I want minimal Democratic infighting and disruption while you want the opposite but try and think about this from the perspective of a Democrat whose priority is beating Trump rather than some Pyrrhic victory where my preferred candidate gets nominated but loses to Trump.

Sure she's not succeeding him in the sense that Biden is stepping down but I think if Biden isn't the candidate then the obvious choice is his VP who is part of the Biden-Harris ticket that has been campaigning and receiving funds. Trying to find another nominee four months out would be chaotic and would hurt the party's chances of beating Trump when right now we need the party to close ranks behind one candidate.
The primary elections DID happen.

I didn’t comment on whether it’s better for the dems to have a candidate heading into the convention. But she wasn’t voted by democratic voters in the primary. That doesn’t mean they won’t vote for her in the general against Trump. But the democrats didn’t go through a voting process to put her at the top of the ticket. She was anointed.

If you think voters select the VP there's only one retard here.

The voters literally vote for both candidates, lmao. Biden-Harris won the election in 2020.

You don't seem to understand that Trump had to seek re-election in 2020 as well, and he didn't primary like Biden didn't primary.

Funny enough, Trump didn't have to primary this campaign season either, but you losers don't seem to care about that for some reason.

Probably because you're all useful idiots just copy pasting things you've seen other people say.

Are people really arguing that Kamala becoming the nominee disenfranchises Dems? I'm Biden's strongest solider but even I'm okay with it and I don't even like Kamala that much. She's just the obvious choice as his VP to succeed him. I didn't vote for just Biden, I voted for Biden-Harris.

As for her chances, I say everything's up in the air with how close the polls are. Clinton was heavily favored and we all remember how that went. If you want a more recent example we have the red wave, a red tsunami according to Joe Rogan, that turned out to be a red trickle. Dems have over-performed in special elections since Dobbs was reversed so I'm hoping we can carry enough of that momentum to November. I don't check polls often but I've heard down ballot Dems are polling well in key states.

And hey I hope you guys do get over confident, might as well stay home right? No need for you all to go out and vote, Trump's got it in the bag.

You literally had NO CHOICE. No vote.

Literally disenfranchised.

LMAO

Pretty fucked up that Republicans have been disenfranchised by not having a 1000 year old man to run against

They vote for the president, no one gives a fuck about the running mate and the running mate is CHOSEN by... who? Go on. Tell me.

Okay great. Not relevant. This is not democracy. There was no primary.
It is though because you're telling a Bernie voter how Bernie voters feel.

The primary elections have happened but the nomination has not.

Its not like I voted in the primary, very few people do when the incumbent is of their party.

The VP is selected by the President-elect to succeed the President. Every adult knows that voting for Harris as VP there is a chance she could be President at some point especially since every adult knows Biden is old.

You're not even American, so obviously you have a clear misunderstanding about how this works.

That's not democracy. Suddenly the left doesn't care about democracy.

It literally is democracy that's how it's always worked.

The President selects the VP, the VP succeeds the President if something should happen or they step down.

Every American adults knows and understand this.

But there is an election coming up, not simply Biden dropping out due to his health and Harris having to take over. You're being deceitful, as usual. Actual democracy would be a primary to see who the most popular candidate is.

Biden is literally dropping out due to his health and Harris is going to take over the campaign. That's literally what is happening. Biden-Harris was already selected via democrat primary.

The GOP just ran a sham primary and didn't require Trump to debate a single candidate. You going to cry about that as well?
